SDI signup issue: Driver's license info not matching EDD records - Help needed
I'm having trouble signing up for SDI benefits. When I enter my driver's license number, the system says the information doesn't match their records. I've already verified my identity with ID.me, so I'm not sure what's going on. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to fix it?

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the URL: https://claimyr.com

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! 😡

•Sounds sketchy. How do you know it's legit?

•I get the skepticism, but I was desperate after weeks of trying. It actually worked for me and saved me hours of hold time. Just sharing what helped me!

•While it may seem expensive, sometimes investing a little can save you a lot of time and frustration, especially if you're in a bind.

I'm in the same boat, been trying to sign up for weeks now. The whole system is a joke. Anyone know if there's a way to escalate this to someone higher up?

•Good luck with that. EDD is like a black hole where all communication goes to die.

•You could try contacting your local state representative. Sometimes they can help push things through.

•Another option might be to reach out to the media or consumer advocacy groups. They sometimes get results.

Pro tip: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online attempt. You never know when you'll need to prove you've been trying to resolve an issue. CYA always!

•Absolutely, keeping records can be a lifesaver. It can help you track your progress and provide evidence if needed.

Serious question: has anyone actually managed to get through to a real person at EDD lately? I've been trying for days and it's always either busy or they hang up on me.

•I got through once... at 3 AM on a Tuesday. Pretty sure it was just a very tired parrot repeating "Please hold" tho.

•Try calling right when they open. I've had luck with that a couple times.

•I heard a rumor that if you say "money please" three times while spinning in a circle, an EDD rep appears. Worth a shot, right? 🤷♂️

Have you double-checked that all your info is entered exactly as it appears on your driver's license? Sometimes even a small discrepancy can cause issues. Also, make sure your license isn't expired!

•Yeah, I've triple-checked everything. My license is valid and all the info matches exactly. That's why I'm so confused!

•Hmm, that is weird then. Might be a glitch in their system. Def try calling them directly if you haven't already.

•Sometimes these systems are sensitive to even small discrepancies. It might be worth trying to re-enter your info one more time.

Here's what you need to do: 1. First, try clearing your browser cache and cookies. Sometimes old data can cause issues. 2. If that doesn't work, try using a different browser or device to apply. 3. Double-check that your name on ID.me matches EXACTLY what's on your driver's license. Even a missing middle initial can cause problems. 4. If you're still having issues, you might need to update your info with the DMV. Sometimes their records are outdated. 5. As a last resort, you can try to apply by mail. It's slower, but it might work if the online system is glitching. Remember, persistence is key with EDD. Don't give up!

Ugh, I had the same issue! It's so frustrating when you think you've done everything right and then hit a wall. Have you tried calling them directly? Sometimes talking to a real person can help sort these things out.

•I agree, calling directly can sometimes be the quickest solution. You might have to be prepared for a long wait time though.

•I've heard that calling during non-peak hours, like early in the morning, can improve your chances of getting through faster.

If you're open to trying Claimyr as a last resort to speak with someone, it might be worth considering. However, I understand it's not ideal to pay for something like this. Also, remember, Claimyr is a third-party tool and not affiliated with EDD, so weigh the pros and cons for your situation.

•I've heard mixed reviews about Claimyr. Some say it works great, others not so much. It's definitely a gamble.

Update: I tried calling and got through after only 2 hours on hold! The rep said there was a glitch in their system affecting some accounts. They're working on fixing it, but in the meantime, they helped me submit my application manually. Thanks for all the advice, everyone!

Plot twist: the EDD is actually run by a bunch of hamsters on wheels. That's why everything's so slow and nothing works right. 🐹🎡

Has anyone tried sacrificing a goat to the EDD gods? Might be worth a shot at this point. 🐐🔮

Classic EDD nonsense. Their systems are always messed up. I swear they make it difficult on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits. 🙄

•I think it might be a combination of outdated systems and high demand. Either way, it's so frustrating for those trying to get help.
