SDI Account Error After ID.me Verification - Can't File Claim

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my SDI account. I completed the ID.me verification process, including the video call and providing all the evidence they asked for. They approved me, but now when I try to file a claim, I keep getting an error message saying 'Something went wrong.' It won't let me proceed at all. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on how to fix it?

Ugh, that sucks! I had a similar issue last month. Have you tried clearing your browser cache or using a different browser? Sometimes that can help with weird glitches like this.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give that a try and see if it helps. Fingers crossed šŸ¤ž

Yeah, def try a different browser. EDD's website is notoriously finicky. I swear it only works properly on Internet Explorer from 2005 or something šŸ™„

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😔

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it's legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta pay to play, ya know? šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Here's what I've learned from dealing with SDI for the past 6 months: • The website is super glitchy, especially after updates • Try accessing it during off-peak hours (like early morning) • If all else fails, you might need to call them directly • Be prepared to wait on hold for HOURS • Document everything, including error messages • Sometimes, the issue resolves itself after a day or two Hang in there, OP. The system is a nightmare, but persistence pays off!

Wow, thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try accessing it during off-peak hours. Appreciate the tips!

This should be pinned at the top of the subreddit. So helpful!

have you tried turning it off and on again? šŸ˜‚ jk jk... but seriously, sometimes logging out completely and waiting a few hours before trying again can help. the SDI system is held together with duct tape and prayers i swear

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been trying to file for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to get our benefits or something. 😤 Keep us updated if you find a solution!

Ikr? It's almost like they make it difficult on purpose to discourage people from claiming. Stay strong, we're all in this together! šŸ’Ŗ

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes important emails from SDI end up there. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date in your account. I missed a crucial verification step because their email went to an old address.

Good point! I'll double-check my spam folder and make sure my contact info is current. Thanks for the reminder!

unpopular opinion: maybe try going to an actual EDD office in person? I know it's a pain, but sometimes face-to-face is the only way to get things sorted. Just bring a book and be prepared to wait all day lol

This! I finally got my issue resolved by going in person. It sucks, but it works.

Do they even have open offices anymore? I thought everything was online/phone only now.

Some offices are open, but it varies by location. Best to check their website or call ahead to confirm.

This exact same thing happened to me! After ID.me verification, I kept getting that "Something went wrong" error for about a week. What finally worked for me was: 1. Clear all cookies/cache for the EDD site specifically 2. Use an incognito/private browser window 3. Try filing during off-peak hours (I had success around 6am) 4. Make sure you're not using any browser extensions that might interfere If none of that works, you might need to call their technical support line. I know it's a pain, but sometimes there's a backend issue with your account that only they can fix. Document the exact error message and any reference numbers you see - it'll help when you do get through to someone. Don't give up! The system is definitely broken, but most people do eventually get it sorted out. Keep trying different browsers/times and you should be able to get through eventually.

This is super helpful, thank you so much for the detailed steps! I'm definitely going to try the incognito window approach first since that seems like the easiest fix. Really appreciate you taking the time to share what worked for you - gives me hope that I'll eventually get this sorted out too! šŸ™

Wow, thank you @Cameron Black for such a comprehensive breakdown! I ve'been dealing with the same error for days and was starting to lose hope. Going to try the incognito window method right now - fingers crossed it works! The 6am timing tip is especially helpful since I hadn t'thought about off-peak hours making a difference. Really appreciate you sharing your experience! šŸ¤ž

I had this EXACT same issue a few months ago! The ID.me verification went through fine, but then I couldn't file my claim for almost 2 weeks. What finally worked for me was a combination of things: - Used Firefox instead of Chrome (seriously, Chrome was giving me nothing but errors) - Filed my claim super early in the morning around 5:30am when the system wasn't overloaded - Made sure I wasn't using any ad blockers or browser extensions - Had to restart the entire claim process from scratch (I know, annoying!) The most frustrating part was that customer service kept telling me to "just try again later" without actually explaining what was wrong. Turns out there was some kind of sync issue between the ID.me system and the SDI database that took time to resolve. Hang in there - it's incredibly frustrating but you're not alone in this struggle. The system is definitely broken, but persistence does pay off eventually. Try the early morning approach and a different browser first before calling, might save you hours on hold!
