ID.me suspended my account, can't file SDI claim. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having a major issue with ID.me verification for my disability claim. They suspended my account and haven't responded to any of my tickets. I can't file my claim without getting past this step. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get state verification or file my claim without ID.me? I'm getting desperate here.

Ugh, ID.me is the worst! I had a similar issue last year. Have you tried reaching out to your local assemblyperson? They can sometimes intervene and help push things through.

•I hadn't thought of that! How do I find my assemblyperson's contact info?

•Just google '[your county] assemblyperson' and it should pop up. Most have dedicated staff for constituent services. Good luck!

•This is solid advice. My cousin got her EDD issues resolved in like a week after months of nothing, all thanks to contacting her assemblyperson. Def worth a shot!

I feel your pain, OP. The whole system is broken af. I've been trying to get my benefits for 3 months now. It's like they want us to give up 🙄

Have you tried calling the disability office directly? I know its a pain, but sometimes you can get lucky and reach a helpful person who can override the ID.me issue.

•I've tried calling so many times, but I always get stuck on hold forever and then disconnected. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: I found a way to actually get through on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•I was skeptical too, but I gave it a shot last week and it actually worked! Saved me hours of frustration.

•Idk man, paying to get through to a government agency feels wrong. Shouldn't this be free?

•I get where you're coming from, but for me, the time and stress it saved was worth the $20. Plus, I got my issue resolved in one call instead of weeks of trying.

Here's what worked for me with the ID.me issue: 1. Clear your browser cache and cookies 2. Use a different browser or device to access ID.me 3. Make sure all your info matches EXACTLY what's on your official documents 4. If you have to do a video call verification, use a well-lit room and have multiple forms of ID ready 5. Be persistent! Sometimes you have to try multiple times If none of that works, definitely reach out to your local rep or try calling the office directly. Don't give up!

Have you checked if there's a local legal aid office that can help? Sometimes they offer free assistance with benefit issues.

•I hadn't considered that. Do you know how I can find one in my area?

•Try searching for 'legal aid [your city/county]' - most areas have at least one office that helps with government benefits. They might have a waiting list, but it's worth a shot!

This might sound weird, but have you tried reaching out to ID.me on Twitter? I've seen some people get help that way when nothing else worked.

I went through the exact same nightmare with ID.me! Here's what finally worked for me after weeks of frustration: First, try the paper application route - you can download form DE 2501 from the EDD website and mail it in. It takes longer but bypasses ID.me completely. If you need to stick with online, I had success by: - Using incognito/private browsing mode - Trying different times of day (early morning worked best for me) - Having backup documents ready (utility bills, bank statements, etc.) Also, document EVERYTHING - screenshot error messages, save confirmation numbers from your support tickets. If you end up needing to escalate, having a paper trail helps. The assemblyperson route that @Malik mentioned is legit - mine got back to me within 48 hours and had my case moving again. Don't feel bad about reaching out to them, that's literally what they're there for. Hang in there, you WILL get through this! The system is broken but people like us have to stick together and share what works. đź’Ş

•This is incredibly helpful, thank you @Amina! I had no idea there was a paper option - that might be exactly what I need. Quick question: when you mailed in the DE 2501 form, how long did it take to get processed? I'm worried about missing deadlines while waiting for the mail route to work through the system.

I'm dealing with a similar ID.me mess right now too! One thing that helped me get some movement was filing a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs. They have an online complaint form and they actually follow up on ID.me issues since it affects so many state services. Also, if you're really stuck, you might want to try contacting your county's disability services office directly - sometimes they can provide alternative verification methods or at least flag your case as urgent while you're dealing with the ID.me nightmare. The whole system is frustrating but don't give up! Keep documenting everything and try multiple approaches at once. Good luck! 🍀
