ID.me account suspended, can't file disability claim. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a really tough spot right now. My ID.me account got suspended out of nowhere and I can't file my disability claim because of it. I've sent them multiple tickets but they're not responding at all. I'm getting desperate because I need to file this claim ASAP for the money. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get past the ID.me verification or contact them directly? I'm at my wit's end here.

Ugh, I feel your pain. ID.me is the WORST. I had a similar issue last year and it took forever to resolve. Have you tried reaching out to them on social media? Sometimes that gets their attention faster than tickets.

Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't tried social media yet. Which platform worked best for you?

Twitter was pretty responsive for me. Just make sure you don't share any personal info publicly. Good luck!

I second the Twitter suggestion. Their support team seems more active there for some reason 🤷♂️

Have you tried contacting your local disability office directly? They might be able to verify your identity through alternative means or at least give you some guidance on how to proceed without ID.me.

This whole system is so broken. Why do we even need ID.me? It's just another hurdle for people who are already struggling. 😤

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're trying to make it as difficult as possible to get the benefits we're entitled to.

I heard it was implemented to prevent fraud, but it seems to be causing more problems than it solves tbh

I found a way to get someone on the phone fast. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yep, totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo

How long did it take to get through using this service?

For me, it took about 45 minutes. Way better than the 3+ hours I spent trying to get through on my own!

Here's what I did when I had issues with ID.me: 1. Document everything: Take screenshots of error messages, save all correspondence. 2. Contact your local representative or senator's office. They often have liaisons who can help with government benefit issues. 3. File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Sometimes this gets companies to respond faster. 4. Keep trying different contact methods: phone, email, social media, etc. 5. If all else fails, consider seeking legal advice. Some non-profits offer free legal aid for benefit issues. Hope this helps! Don't give up, you'll get through this eventually.

Pretty sure that's against their terms of service. Could make things worse if they catch you.

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been trying to get my account unsuspended for weeks now. This whole situation is ridiculous. Sending positive vibes your way 🙏
