ID.me suspended my account, can't file disability claim. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having a major issue with ID verification for my disability claim. My account got suspended by ID.me and they're not responding to any of my tickets. I can't file my claim without getting past this verification step. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get through to someone or bypass this roadblock?

Ugh, that sucks. I had a similar issue last year. Have you tried calling the disability office directly? Sometimes they can help you bypass the ID.me stuff if you explain the situation.

•I've been trying to call them for days, but the lines are always busy. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and be ready to dial the second they start taking calls. It's annoying but it worked for me.

•Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

ID.me is the worst! I swear they make it difficult on purpose. Have you tried reaching out to them on social media? Sometimes companies respond faster when you call them out publicly.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Have you considered going to your local disability office in person? Sometimes face-to-face interactions can get things moving faster.

•I didn't even know that was an option! Do you know if I need to make an appointment first?

•It depends on your local office. Some take walk-ins, others require appointments. Check their website or give them a call to find out.

This whole system is broken af. Why do we even need ID.me? It's just another hoop to jump through. 🤬

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they don't want us to get the benefits we're entitled to.

Here's what worked for me when I had issues with ID.me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 2. File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. This sometimes gets their attention. 3. Contact your local state representative. They often have staff dedicated to helping constituents with government benefit issues. 4. If all else fails, consider seeking legal advice. Some lawyers offer free consultations for these kinds of issues. Hang in there, OP. I know it's frustrating, but don't give up!

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start documenting everything. Hadn't thought about contacting my state rep - that's a great idea.

•This is solid advice. I'd add one more thing: check if your state has an ombudsman for disability services. They can sometimes cut through red tape faster than anyone else.

Have you tried creating a new ID.me account? Sometimes starting fresh can bypass weird glitches in their system.

•I'm worried about creating a new account when my old one is suspended. Don't want to make things worse, you know?

•That's a fair point. Maybe reach out to ID.me support first and ask if it's okay to create a new account in your situation.
