SDI Error E311 - Can't access account, need help ASAP!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my SDI claim. I keep getting an Error code E311 when I try to access my account. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any ideas on how to fix it or what it means? I've been trying to get through to someone on the phone but no luck so far.

I found a way to solve SDI Error E311 account issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aL7T2tGvbgc

Ugh, I've been dealing with the same error for weeks now! It's so frustrating. I think it has something to do with their system being overloaded or something. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? That seemed to help for me, at least temporarily.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a try. Did you end up getting it resolved completely or does it keep coming back?

It comes back every now and then, but not as often. I've found that using a different browser sometimes helps too. Good luck!

clearing cache didnt work for me 😭 this whole system is a joke

E311 usually means there's an issue with your account verification. You might need to upload additional documents to prove your identity. Check your inbox for any messages from SDI asking for more info.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

I get it, but for me, it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, ya know?

Have you tried accessing your account at different times of the day? Sometimes the system is less buggy early in the morning or late at night when there's less traffic.

That's a good idea, I'll try logging in at odd hours. Thanks!

Error E311 is the worst! 🤬 I've been dealing with it for months. Here's what I've learned: • It's often related to identity verification issues • Sometimes it's a glitch in their system • Calling doesn't always help because the reps can't always see the error on their end • Sending a message through your SDI account (if you can access it) can sometimes get a response • If all else fails, try contacting your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes escalate issues with SDI Hang in there, OP. I know it's frustrating, but keep trying!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! I'll definitely try contacting my assembly member if I can't get it resolved soon.

This is great advice! I wish I had known about the assembly member trick sooner. It really does work, folks!

have u tried turning it off and on again? 🤣 jk jk... but seriously, sometimes logging out completely, waiting a few minutes, and logging back in can help. worth a shot!

I'm in the same boat, OP. This E311 error is driving me crazy. I've heard rumors that they're updating the system soon. Maybe that'll fix some of these issues? šŸ¤ž

Not to be that person, but have you double-checked that you're entering all your info correctly? Sometimes it's the simple things that trip us up. Make sure your SSN, DOB, and name are all entered exactly as they appear on your SDI documents.

I appreciate the suggestion, but yeah, I've triple-checked everything. It's definitely something on their end.

Ah, gotcha. Just thought I'd mention it. This system really is a mess, isn't it?

guys. i think i figured it out. E311 is actually a secret code. E = 5th letter of alphabet. 3+1+1 = 5. 5-5 = 0. It means there are 0 people actually working at SDI to help us! šŸ•µļøā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤Æ

I've been dealing with E311 for about 3 weeks now and finally got some clarity from a rep I reached after calling literally 47 times (yes, I counted šŸ˜…). According to her, E311 specifically means there's a "data mismatch" in their system - basically your account info doesn't match what they have on file from Social Security or your employer. She told me to fax (yes, FAX in 2024!) a copy of my driver's license and Social Security card to their verification department. The fax number is 916-464-3180. It's supposed to take 7-10 business days to process. Still waiting on mine, but at least I know what the error actually means now. Hope this helps someone!

This is incredibly helpful, thank you @Darcy Moore! 47 calls - you're a warrior 😤 The fax requirement is so outdated but at least now we know what E311 actually means. I'm going to try this approach. Did the rep give you any tips on the best times to call to actually get through?

OMG thank you @Darcy Moore for actually getting through and getting real answers! 47 calls is dedication šŸ’Ŗ The data mismatch explanation makes so much sense - I bet that's exactly what's happening with mine too. Quick question though - when you fax those documents, do you need to include any specific reference number or case ID? And did they give you any kind of confirmation that they received the fax? I'm worried about sending sensitive docs into the void and having no way to track if they got them. Also going to start my own call counter today... wish me luck! šŸ“ž

Great questions @Omar Mahmoud! I'm actually curious about the same things - especially the confirmation part. When dealing with government agencies, it's so important to have some kind of paper trail. @Darcy Moore, did they give you any kind of reference number when you faxed your documents? Also, for anyone else trying this approach, might be worth calling that verification department directly to confirm they received your fax after a few days. The whole process sounds frustrating but at least we finally have some concrete steps to follow!

@Omar Mahmoud I actually just went through this process last month! When you fax the documents, make sure to include a cover sheet with your full name, SSN last (4 digits only for security ,)and write RE: "SDI Error E311 - Identity Verification at" the top. I also included my claim number from my original application. They don t'give you a confirmation receipt, but I called back after 5 business days and they could confirm they had received my documents. Pro tip: keep a copy of everything you fax and take a photo of the fax confirmation page showing it went through successfully. The whole process took about 8 business days for me and then I was able to access my account again. Good luck with your calls! šŸ¤ž

This is exactly the kind of detailed info we need more of! @Connor Murphy thank you for sharing your experience - the cover sheet details and timeline are super helpful. I m'dealing with E311 right now too and was wondering about the fax confirmation process. Did you have any issues with the fax going through? I ve'heard some people say government fax lines can be finicky. Also, when you called back after 5 days to confirm receipt, did you have to go through the same endless phone tree or is there a direct number for the verification department? Really appreciate everyone sharing their actual experiences instead of just speculation! šŸ™
