E324 Error When Applying for SDI Online - Can't Create Account
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble applying for SDI online. When I try to create my account, I keep getting this error message: E324: The system is unable to process your request. It says to contact EDD at 1-800-480-3287 during business hours. Has anyone else run into this? Any ideas on how to fix it or get through to someone?

Ugh, I had the same issue last week. It's so frustrating! I tried calling that number but was on hold forever. Never actually got through to anyone. The whole system seems broken.

•Same here! I've been trying for days. This is ridiculous. How are we supposed to get help if we can't even create an account? 🤬

•Have you guys tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps with weird website errors.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give that a shot. Anything's worth a try at this point lol

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit? Has anyone else tried this?

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's insane. The government should provide better service for free!

•I get the skepticism, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta spend money to save time, ya know? 🤷♂️

•Can you give more details about how it works? Like, do they just keep calling until they get through?

•Yeah, basically they have a system that navigates the phone tree and waits on hold. When a real person picks up, it calls your phone and connects you. Took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to do anything during that time.

I've been dealing with this E324 error for weeks now. It's absolutely maddening. I've tried different browsers, computers, even my phone. Nothing works. EDD needs to get their act together!

Hey OP, have you tried accessing the site during off-peak hours? Like really early in the morning or late at night? Sometimes the system gets overloaded during the day and that can cause errors.

•That's a good idea, I haven't tried that yet. I'll give it a shot tonight. Thanks for the tip!

Alright, listen up folks. I've been through this rodeo before and I've got some tips for dealing with the E324 error and SDI application issues in general: 1. Clear your browser cache and cookies. This solves a surprising number of issues. 2. Try different browsers. Sometimes Chrome works when Firefox doesn't, or vice versa. 3. Use incognito/private browsing mode. This can bypass some weird cookie issues. 4. Check your internet connection. A unstable connection can cause timeouts that look like errors. 5. Try during off-peak hours. Early morning (like 2-4 AM) or late night often works better. 6. If all else fails, you might need to talk to a human. Be prepared for long hold times if you call. 7. Document everything. Screenshot errors, write down who you talked to and when. 8. Check if there are any announced system maintenance periods. Sometimes they do updates that can cause temporary issues. 9. Make sure your personal info exactly matches what they have on file. Even small discrepancies can cause problems. 10. Be persistent. Unfortunately, sometimes you just have to keep trying. Hope this helps someone out there. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor! 💪

•Great advice! I'd add one more thing: check if your adblocker or other browser extensions might be interfering. I've had that cause issues before.

•Good point! I forgot about extensions. They can definitely cause weird issues sometimes.

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to apply for benefits we're entitled to? The system is broken, yall. 😤

Guys, I think I figured out a workaround! If you start the application process and then leave it idle for about 30 minutes, it seems to reset something in the system. When you come back and refresh, it often works! Weird, but it worked for me and a couple friends.

I'm dealing with the exact same E324 error! It's been driving me crazy for the past few days. I've tried most of the suggestions here - different browsers, clearing cache, incognito mode - but still no luck. The waiting game approach sounds interesting though. @Madeline Blaze, when you say leave it idle for 30 minutes, do you mean just leave the page open or actually start filling out the form first? Also wondering if anyone has had success with the early morning approach @Caleb Stark mentioned. Might try that at like 3 AM tonight if I can't sleep anyway! This whole situation is so frustrating when you actually need the benefits. 😫

•Hey @Yuki Sato! Welcome to the E324 error club - nobody wants to be here but at least we're all suffering together! 😅 I'm pretty new to this whole thing too, but from what I've been reading here, it sounds like you're on the right track with trying different approaches. The 3 AM idea actually makes a lot of sense - less people probably using the system then. Have you also tried the browser extension thing that @Ella Lewis mentioned? Might be worth disabling any adblockers or extensions temporarily just to see if that helps. This whole situation really does suck when you need the benefits. Hang in there! 💪

Just wanted to jump in and say thank you to everyone sharing their experiences and solutions! I'm new here but dealing with the same E324 nightmare. @Jade O'Malley your comprehensive list is incredibly helpful - I'm going to work through each step systematically. @Madeline Blaze that idle timeout workaround sounds really intriguing, definitely going to try that approach. It's honestly both frustrating and reassuring to see I'm not alone in this struggle. The fact that so many people are having the same issue makes me wonder if there's a broader system problem on EDD's end. Has anyone considered filing a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs about these persistent technical issues? Seems like if enough people report it, maybe they'd prioritize fixing it. Anyway, appreciate this community for helping each other navigate this mess! 🙏

•Hey @NebulaNomad! Welcome to the community and thanks for jumping in with such a thoughtful post! 👋 The idea about filing complaints with the California Department of Consumer Affairs is actually brilliant - I hadn't thought of that approach. If we could get enough people to report these persistent E324 issues, it might actually put some pressure on EDD to fix their system properly instead of just telling everyone to "try again later." I'm definitely going to look into filing a complaint myself. Also agree that @Jade O'Malley's list is super comprehensive - been referring back to it myself! It really does help knowing we're all dealing with this together. Hopefully between all the different workarounds people have shared here, someone will find a solution that works for them. Keep us posted on how the systematic approach works out for you! 🤞

Just wanted to share my experience - I was getting the E324 error for about a week and finally got through yesterday! What worked for me was a combination of things: I used Chrome in incognito mode, disabled all my browser extensions (including my password manager), and tried at around 2:30 AM. It took a few attempts even then, but eventually the account creation page loaded properly. I think the key was really the off-peak hours timing that @Caleb Stark mentioned - during the day it would fail immediately, but late at night it seemed like the system had more capacity. Also want to echo what others have said about documenting everything - I took screenshots of every error message which helped when I finally got through to someone on the phone (took forever but eventually connected). Don't give up, everyone! This system is definitely broken but there are ways around it. 🙏

•Congrats on finally getting through @Liam Mendez! 🎉 That's awesome to hear a success story. The combination approach you used sounds really solid - incognito mode + disabled extensions + off-peak hours. I'm definitely going to try that exact setup tonight around 2-3 AM. The documentation tip is super smart too, I should have been doing that from the beginning. It's encouraging to know that persistence actually pays off with this broken system. Thanks for sharing the details of what worked - gives me hope that I'll eventually get through too! Did you have any other issues after creating the account, or did the rest of the application process go smoothly?

I've been lurking here for a while dealing with my own E324 nightmare, and I just want to say how grateful I am for this community! Reading through everyone's experiences and solutions has been incredibly helpful. I'm planning to try the combination approach that @Liam Mendez used - incognito mode, disabled extensions, and hitting it around 2-3 AM. @Jade O'Malley your troubleshooting list is like a masterclass in dealing with broken government websites! I've bookmarked it. And @NebulaNomad, I love the idea about filing complaints with the Department of Consumer Affairs - we really should organize something like that if enough people are interested. It's both frustrating and oddly comforting to know I'm not the only one banging my head against this wall. Will report back if I have any success with the late-night approach! 🤞

•Hey @LongPeri! Welcome to our little support group of E324 survivors! 😅 It's really great to see how this community comes together to help each other through these technical nightmares. I'm also planning to try that late-night approach that @Liam Mendez outlined - seems like several people have had success with the 2-3 AM time slot. The idea about organizing complaints to the Department of Consumer Affairs is really smart too. Maybe we could create a separate thread to coordinate that effort? Would be interesting to see how many people are dealing with this issue statewide. Keep us posted on how the midnight mission goes - fingers crossed the system cooperates for you! 🙏

Just wanted to jump in as someone who's been battling this E324 error for the past two weeks! This thread has been a lifesaver - so many helpful suggestions I hadn't thought of. I've tried most of the basic troubleshooting (different browsers, clearing cache, etc.) but haven't had luck yet. Really interested in trying the combination approach that @Liam Mendez shared - incognito + disabled extensions + 2-3 AM timing sounds like it might be the magic formula. Also appreciate @Jade O'Malley's comprehensive troubleshooting list - that's going straight into my bookmarks! The idea about filing complaints with the Department of Consumer Affairs is brilliant too @NebulaNomad. If we could get enough people to report these persistent issues, maybe EDD would finally prioritize fixing their broken system. It's honestly ridiculous that we have to become tech support experts just to apply for benefits we're entitled to. Will definitely try the late-night approach tonight and report back. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and keeping each other sane through this mess! 🤝

•Hey @Omar Hassan! Welcome to the E324 support group! 😊 I'm pretty new here too but it's been amazing seeing how everyone shares their workarounds and keeps each other motivated. Two weeks of fighting this error sounds absolutely exhausting - you definitely deserve some better luck! The late-night strategy really does seem to be the most consistent success story I'm seeing across multiple posts. I'm actually planning to try it myself tonight around 2:30 AM based on @Liam Mendez s'experience. Maybe we can be midnight warriors together! 🌙 And totally agree about the Department of Consumer Affairs complaint idea - if enough of us document these issues officially, maybe we can actually get some systemic change instead of just individual workarounds. Keep us posted on how tonight goes - really hoping the combination approach works for you!

Hey everyone! I'm dealing with the same E324 error and this thread has been incredibly helpful - thank you all for sharing your experiences and solutions! I've been trying for about a week now with no luck using the usual troubleshooting steps. Based on what I'm reading here, it sounds like the late-night approach around 2-3 AM combined with incognito mode and disabled extensions might be my best bet. @Liam Mendez congrats on getting through - your success story gives me hope! And @Jade O'Malley that troubleshooting list is pure gold 🏆. I'm definitely going to try the systematic approach tonight. Also really interested in the complaint filing idea that @NebulaNomad mentioned - seems like we could make a real impact if we coordinated our efforts. This whole situation is so frustrating when you actually need these benefits, but at least we're all helping each other figure it out. Will report back after my midnight attempt! 🤞

And totally agree about coordinating the Department of Consumer Affairs complaints - if we could get even 10-20 people to file official reports about these persistent E324 issues, it might actually get some attention from higher-ups at EDD. Keep us posted on how your midnight mission goes - fingers crossed the system cooperates for you! We're all rooting for each other here! 💪

Just wanted to add my experience to this thread - I've been stuck with the E324 error for about 5 days now and it's been incredibly frustrating! I've tried all the basic troubleshooting steps multiple times (different browsers, clearing cache, incognito mode) with no success. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been really helpful though - it's reassuring to know I'm not the only one dealing with this broken system! I'm definitely going to try the late-night approach that @Liam Mendez and others have had success with. The combination of incognito mode + disabled extensions + 2-3 AM timing seems to be the most consistent workaround I'm seeing. I'll probably attempt it tonight around 2:30 AM and document everything just in case. Also really appreciate @Jade O'Malley's comprehensive troubleshooting list - that's going to be my reference guide! And the idea about filing complaints with the Department of Consumer Affairs is brilliant @NebulaNomad. If we could coordinate even a small group of people to file official reports about these persistent technical issues, it might actually get EDD's attention and push them to fix their system properly. •Hey @Scarlett Forster! Welcome to our E324 support group! 😊 Five days of dealing with this error is so frustrating, but you're definitely in good company here. I'm also pretty new to this community but have been amazed at how helpful everyone is with sharing their workarounds and experiences. Just wanted to share an update - I tried the late-night approach that everyone's been talking about and it actually worked! 🎉 I attempted it at around 2:45 AM using Chrome in incognito mode with all extensions disabled (including my password manager), and after about 3 tries, I was finally able to create my account and start the SDI application. @Liam Mendez you were absolutely right about the timing being crucial - during the day it would fail immediately, but in the early morning hours the system seemed much more stable. I also followed @Jade O'Malley's advice about documenting everything with screenshots, which was helpful. For anyone still struggling with E324, I'd definitely recommend the combination approach: incognito mode + disabled extensions + 2-3 AM timing. It's not guaranteed but seems to have the highest success rate based on what I'm seeing here. Don't give up - this system is definitely broken but there are workarounds! Also totally support the idea of filing complaints with the Department of Consumer Affairs that @NebulaNomad suggested. Even though I got through, the fact that so many people are having to become tech experts just to access basic benefits is unacceptable. We should definitely coordinate that effort! Thanks to everyone in this community for the support and advice - it really made all the difference! 💪

•Congratulations @GalacticGladiator! 🎉 That's such amazing news and gives me so much hope! I'm actually a newcomer to this whole E324 nightmare but have been reading through everyone's experiences here. Your success story is exactly what I needed to hear - I've been feeling pretty defeated after trying the basic troubleshooting steps with no luck. I'm definitely going to try your exact approach tonight: Chrome incognito + all extensions disabled + 2:45 AM timing. It's crazy that we have to become night owls just to access basic government services, but if it works, it works! Also really appreciate you mentioning the documentation tip from @Jade O'Malley - I'll make sure to screenshot everything. And totally agree about the Department of Consumer Affairs complaint coordination - even though you got through, this systemic issue needs to be addressed so future people don't have to go through this same frustrating process. Thanks for sharing your success and keeping the hope alive for the rest of us still fighting the E324 monster! 🙏
