E324 Error when applying for SDI online - Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble applying for SDI online. I keep getting this error message: E324: The system is unable to process your request. It tells me to contact EDD, but I'm not sure what to do next. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any advice on how to get it resolved?

Ugh, I had the same problem last month. It's so frustrating! Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps with weird system errors.

E324 error is usually a system-wide issue. You might want to wait a few hours and try again. If it persists, definitely call EDD. Here's what I'd suggest: 1. Try applying at different times of the day 2. Use a different browser or device 3. Double-check all your info is correct 4. If nothing works, bite the bullet and call EDD Good luck! The system can be a real pain sometimes.

•This is solid advice. I'd add that sometimes the mobile site works when the desktop version is acting up. Worth a shot!

I found a way to get someone on the phone fast. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Totally worth the $20 imo.

•I've used it twice now. Works like a charm. Just make sure you're ready to answer when they call you back!

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been trying to apply for weeks now. The whole system needs an overhaul. Anyone know if there's a way to apply by mail or in person?

•I think you can request a paper application, but it takes forever to process. Probably faster to keep trying online or call tbh.

Pro tip: Try applying super early in the morning or late at night. Less traffic on the site, might have better luck getting through. Worked for me!

•That's a great idea! I'll set an alarm and try at like 5am tomorrow. Thanks!

I had the exact same E324 error last week! What finally worked for me was using a different browser entirely (switched from Chrome to Firefox) and making sure I wasn't using any browser extensions or ad blockers. Also double-check that you're entering your SSN exactly as it appears on your card - no dashes or spaces. The EDD system is super picky about formatting. If all else fails, the phone number for SDI is 1-800-480-3287, but yeah, expect to wait on hold for hours. Hope this helps!

•Thanks so much for the detailed help! The browser switch tip is something I hadn't thought of. I've been using Chrome with a bunch of extensions running, so that could definitely be the issue. Going to try Firefox with a clean setup and pay extra attention to the SSN formatting. Really appreciate you sharing what worked for you! 🙏
