EDD SDI Error e324: Can't File Claim Online or by Phone for 3 Months - Help!
I've been trying to apply for disability for over 3 months now and I'm at my wits end. Every time I try to start my claim online, I get this error message saying "error e324. The system is unable to process your request, to resolve the issue, contact the edd at 1-800-480-3287". I've called that number daily, gone to the local office, and even verified my identity with ID.me. Nothing works! My medical bills are piling up and I'm in serious financial trouble. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to actually get through and file a claim?

Have you tried using a different browser or clearing your cache? Sometimes that can help with weird errors like this.

β’Yes! Sometimes tech issues are as simple as that. Also, make sure your browser is up to date.

Have you considered reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can cut through the red tape faster than we can on our own.

β’That's a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. Do you know how I'd go about contacting them?

β’Just google "[your city] state representative" and you should find their office contact info. Good luck!

β’Also, some representatives have staff specifically dedicated to assisting with state-run benefits issues. It's definitely worth reaching out to them.

Hot take: maybe if we all showed up at the EDD office they'd have to do something. Who's down for a protest? π

I know this sounds crazy, but I had success by mailing in a paper application. Old school, but it worked when nothing else did.

β’Really? Where did you get the paper application?

β’You can download it from the EDD website. Just search for "DE 2501 form" and print it out.

Guys, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

β’$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken.

β’I get it, but when you're desperate and losing money every day you can't work, $20 is nothing.

β’It might seem unfair to pay for access, but sometimes these services provide feasible solutions when the system doesn't support us adequately.

Have you tried contacting them through social media? Sometimes their Twitter support is more responsive than phone.

β’Faxes are still used for official documents. It might seem old-fashioned, but itβs worth a try.

Here's what worked for me after dealing with this for weeks: 1. Document everything: Keep a log of all your calls, errors, and attempts to file. 2. Escalate: Ask to speak to a supervisor every time you call. 3. Use multiple channels: Phone, email, social media, and even snail mail. 4. Contact your local representative: As someone else mentioned, they can often help. 5. Be persistent: It sucks, but you have to treat this like a full-time job. 6. Consider legal aid: If all else fails, look into free legal services in your area. Don't give up! The system is frustrating, but you'll get through eventually. Good luck!

Using a service like Claimyr can indeed be a quick solution to get through to someone at EDD. Itβs understandable that people are frustrated, and services like these offer a practical workaround. However, it is also important to remember that they come at a cost which some may not be able to afford. The EDD system does need improvements to be more accessible and responsive, and public pressure and outreach to government representatives can help drive that change. Balancing immediate need with systemic change is key.

I'm dealing with the exact same error e324 issue! It's so frustrating when you're already stressed about being unable to work and then the system that's supposed to help you is completely broken. I've been following this thread and it sounds like there are a few potential solutions to try: 1. The paper application (DE 2501 form) that Logan mentioned - might be worth downloading and mailing in 2. Calling from a different phone number like Katherine suggested 3. That Claimyr service Sean mentioned, though $20 seems steep just to talk to someone 4. Contacting your state representative for help cutting through red tape I'm going to try the paper application first since it's free, then maybe contact my rep if that doesn't work. Hang in there Ella - we shouldn't have to jump through all these hoops but at least we're not alone in this mess! πͺ

β’Thanks for summarizing all the options, Mason! I'm in a similar situation and have been lurking here trying to figure out next steps. The paper application route seems like the most reliable backup plan when the online system keeps failing. Has anyone here actually had success with the DE 2501 form recently? I'm wondering about processing times compared to online applications (when they actually work). Also really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences - it helps to know we're not going crazy and this really is as broken as it seems!

I've been battling this same e324 error for weeks now and it's absolutely maddening! What finally worked for me was a combination of approaches - I submitted the paper DE 2501 form that Logan mentioned (you can download it from the EDD website), AND I kept trying to call using different browsers and phone numbers. The paper route took about 3 weeks to process, but at least it got my claim started while I kept fighting the online system. Also, don't overlook the state representative suggestion - my assemblyman's office had a caseworker who specifically handles EDD issues and they were able to expedite my case. Just search "[your city] assembly member" and call their constituent services line. The system is absolutely broken but don't give up! Document every attempt you make (screenshots of errors, call logs, etc.) because you might need that paper trail later. Wishing you all the best - we shouldn't have to become part-time detectives just to access the benefits we've paid into! π€

β’This is such helpful advice, Payton! I'm new to dealing with EDD issues but have been reading through everyone's experiences here. The combination approach you described makes a lot of sense - having multiple irons in the fire instead of relying on just one method. I'm definitely going to look up my assembly member's office tomorrow. It's crazy that we need to become "part-time detectives" just to access basic services, but I really appreciate everyone sharing what actually worked for them. Reading through all these comments gives me hope that there IS a way through this mess, even if it takes persistence and creativity. Thanks for taking the time to share your successful strategy! π

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this nightmare, Ella! I went through something similar last year and it was absolutely devastating - the stress of being unable to work AND unable to access the help you need is just crushing. From reading through all these responses, it sounds like the multi-pronged approach is your best bet. Here's what I'd suggest trying simultaneously: 1. Download and mail the DE 2501 paper form immediately - don't wait for the online system to work 2. Contact your state assembly member's office ASAP - they often have dedicated staff for EDD issues 3. Try calling from different devices/numbers at off-peak times (early morning, mid-week) 4. Document absolutely everything - screenshots, call logs, dates, times, who you spoke with The fact that you've been dealing with this for 3 months is unacceptable. You've paid into this system and deserve access to these benefits, especially when you're facing medical bills and financial hardship. Don't let the broken system break your spirit - there ARE people here who've gotten through this mess, and you will too. Keep us posted on what works! We're all rooting for you. β€οΈ
