SDI claim error due to incorrect DOB in system - How to fix?

Hey everyone, I'm having a major issue with SDI. My date of birth is wrong in their system and now I can't file my claim. Every time I try, I get an error message. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to fix it?

Ugh, that sucks! I had a similar problem last year. You're gonna have to call them and get them to update it manually. Good luck getting through tho, their phone lines are always jammed 🙄

Yep, calling is def the way to go. But be prepared to wait forEVER. I was on hold for like 3 hours last time I had to call them 💀

omg 3 hours?! thats insane. do they not have enough staff or something?

Idk man, it's always been like this. The whole system is a mess tbh

I found a way to get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Yeah, it does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. It saved me hours of waiting on hold.

$20 seems steep just to make a phone call. Is it worth it?

For me it was. I needed to sort out my claim ASAP and couldn't afford to spend all day on hold. Time is money, ya know?

Have you tried updating your info online? Sometimes you can do that without calling.

This happened to me too! It's so frustrating. I ended up having to fax them a copy of my ID and birth certificate. Took forever to get sorted out. 😫

Oof, that sounds like a pain. How long did it take to get fixed after you faxed everything?

It took about 2 weeks. Not ideal, but at least it got fixed eventually.

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling right when they open. I've had better luck that way.

What time do they open? Might give this a shot tomorrow

I think it's 8am Pacific time. But double check on their website to be sure!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your documents: ID, birth certificate, social security card. 2. Try calling first thing in the morning, right when they open. 3. If you can't get through, use the fax method someone mentioned earlier. 4. While waiting for a response, keep trying to call. 5. If all else fails, consider contacting your local state representative. They sometimes have special channels to expedite these issues. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is frustrating, but you'll get it sorted eventually. Good luck!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try calling first thing tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

This is great advice. I'd add one thing: keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. It might come in handy if you need to escalate the issue later.

Have you tried reaching out to them on social media? Sometimes their Twitter team is more responsive than phone support.
