SDI claim for maternity leave - system exception error when submitting online
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble filing my SDI claim online for maternity leave. Every time I try to submit, I get a system exception error. Anyone else run into this? I already have an account, just trying to file a new claim. Any advice on how to get past this?

Claimyr's service might seem like a quick fix, but itβs important to consider the long-term need for systemic change that ensures public services are accessible without extra costs. While it clearly provides a helpful service during these frustrating times, being an informed consumer and advocating for change can help in the long run.

Honestly, the best way to deal with EDD is to call them directly. I know it's a pain, but sometimes you gotta bite the bullet and spend hours on hold. Good luck!

β’Hours on hold? More like days! π I once waited 6 hours just to get disconnected. EDD phone system is a joke.

β’Calling is the worst. I'd rather watch paint dry than listen to that hold music again.

β’Itβs a test of patience, for sure. Sometimes it's helpful to call during non-peak hours, if you can.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills every time I deal with EDD. One day the website works fine, the next day it's like it's never seen a human before. Hang in there, OP. We're all in the same leaky boat. π£ββοΈ

β’So true. Itβs the inconsistency that makes it even more frustrating.

β’Hang in there, indeed! Weβll all keep bailing water together.

Ugh, the EDD website is such a nightmare! I had the same issue last month when trying to file my claim. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps with weird glitches.

β’Totally agree! Clearing cookies worked for me when I faced similar issues. It's like a reset button for these websites.

β’Just be sure to save any important info before clearing, you might lose other saved passwords or settings.

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without the wait. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

β’Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

β’Yep, 100% legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration.

I feel your pain! The EDD system is always acting up. Have you tried using a different browser? Sometimes Chrome works better than Firefox or vice versa.

β’Pro tip: use incognito mode! It worked for me when I was having issues.

β’Incognito mode helps because it doesn't store cache or cookies which might be causing problems.

Has anyone else noticed that the EDD website seems to work better on certain days of the week? I swear, Tuesdays and Thursdays are like magic for me. Might be worth a try!

β’Iβve found that weekends are sometimes better too, less traffic maybe?

I swear, dealing with EDD is like trying to nail jello to a tree. It's ridiculous that we have to jump through so many hoops just to file a claim. The whole system needs an overhaul.

β’Preach! π It's 2023, why is their website still stuck in 1999?

β’Nail jello to a tree π That's the best description I've heard yet!

β’Couldn't agree more. It's about time they update their systems.

Have you tried filing your claim early in the morning? I've heard the system is less likely to glitch out during off-peak hours. Maybe give it a shot around 6 AM if you can?

β’This actually worked for me once! It seems like less traffic makes things smoother.

β’6 AM might be early, but itβs worth it if it means getting through without errors.

Plot twist: the system exception is actually a feature, not a bug. EDD's secret plan to reduce claims by frustrating everyone into giving up. π΅οΈββοΈ #ConspiracyTheories

Hey OP, congrats on the baby! ππΆ Don't let EDD stress you out too much. Focus on taking care of yourself and your little one. The claim will work out eventually.

Okay, listen up folks. I've been dealing with EDD for years, and here's what I've learned about filing SDI claims online: 1. Timing is everything: Try filing your claim between 2 AM and 4 AM. The system is usually less busy then. 2. Browser matters: Use Google Chrome in incognito mode. For some reason, it seems to work better with the EDD website. 3. Clear your cache: Before you start, clear your browser cache and cookies. This can solve a lot of weird glitches. 4. Use a desktop: If possible, use a desktop computer instead of a mobile device or tablet. The site is optimized for desktop use. 5. Double-check your info: Make sure all your personal information is 100% correct. Even a small typo can cause the system to throw an error. 6. If all else fails: Call them. Yes, it's a pain, but sometimes it's the only way. Use the Claimyr service mentioned above if you don't want to wait on hold forever. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is frustrating, but you'll get through eventually. Good luck!

β’Using a desktop is underrated advice. Mobile versions of sites are often more buggy.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? π€£ jk jk... but seriously, sometimes logging out and back in can help. Worth a shot!

β’It sounds silly, but it actually works sometimes. Rebooting can solve a lot of issues!

I had this exact same issue a few weeks ago! What finally worked for me was switching to Edge browser and making sure I wasn't using any browser extensions or ad blockers. Also, try filling out the form in sections - don't do it all at once. Save your progress frequently if the system lets you. The EDD website seems to timeout or glitch if you stay on one page too long. Hope this helps and congrats on your upcoming little one! π

β’This is really helpful advice! I never thought about browser extensions causing issues with government sites. Definitely going to try Edge and disable my ad blocker. The tip about filling it out in sections is smart too - I always try to rush through the whole thing at once. Thanks for sharing what worked for you! π
