SDI claim stuck - wrong DOB in system, need urgent fix!
Hey everyone, I'm having a major issue with my SDI claim. I just found out today that my date of birth is incorrect in their system, and it's preventing me from submitting my claim. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get it fixed quickly? I'm really worried about delays in my benefits.

Ugh, that sucks! I had a similar issue last year. You need to call them ASAP and get it corrected. Be prepared to wait on hold for hours tho 🙄

•Thanks for the heads up. Did you have any trouble getting them to fix it once you got through?

•Nah, once I finally got someone on the line, they fixed it pretty quick. Just make sure you have your ID and social security card handy to verify your identity.

I found a method to get someone on the phone quickly. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call 🤔

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny IMO. You can always try calling yourself first if you've got the time to spare.

•I used it last month and it worked great. Beats sitting on hold all day!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your documents: ID, social security card, and any correspondence from SDI. 2. Call the SDI office first thing in the morning when they open. Earlier = shorter wait times. 3. Be polite but firm with the agent. Explain that you noticed the error today and it's preventing your claim submission. 4. Ask them to update your info immediately and confirm when it's done. 5. Request a confirmation email or letter for your records. 6. Follow up in 24-48 hours if the system still shows the wrong DOB. Good luck! The system is a mess, but persistence pays off.

•Great advice! I'd add: take notes during the call (agent name, time, what they say) in case you need to reference it later.

Have you tried checking your info on the SDI online portal? Sometimes you can update simple stuff like that without calling. Might save you some time!

•I tried that first actually, but no luck. It seems like DOB changes have to be done by an agent 😕

•Ah bummer. Well, at least you know calling is your only option now. Hang in there!

Pro tip: if you cant get thru on the main line, try calling your local SDI office directly. Google for the number, theyre usually less swamped.

•This! 💯 Local offices are the way to go. I got my issue resolved in like 20 minutes when I finally tried this.

Oof, date of birth issues are the WORST. I had this problem with my driver's license and it was a nightmare to fix. Sending good vibes your way, OP! 🙏

•Preach! 🙌 It's a total clown show. We pay into this system and then have to jump through hoops to use it.

•Calm down, it's not a conspiracy. It's just underfunded and understaffed like every other gov agency.

Hey OP, when you call, ask them to put a note on your account about the DOB issue. That way if your claim gets held up, other agents can see whats going on. Saved my butt when I had a similar problem!
