Need help modifying SDI claim date due to extension - can't reach anyone!

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my SDI claim. I need to modify the claim date due to an extension, but I can't seem to get through to anyone on the phone. I've been trying for days and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get in touch with someone who can help?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get through to them for weeks about my claim. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits 🙄

Same here! Its so frustrating. I've tried calling at different times of the day but no luck

Have you guys tried emailing? I heard sometimes that works better than calling

I tried emailing but got an auto-reply saying to call instead. It's a never-ending cycle 😫

I actually found a way to get through! There's this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that calls for you, waits on hold, and then connects you when a real person picks up. It costs $20 but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Seems kinda steep just to talk to someone...

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked. After weeks of trying, I finally got through. Worth every penny imo

Can confirm, I used it too. Saved me hours of frustration

Here's what I've learned from dealing with SDI claims: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. 2. Try calling right when they open or just before closing. 3. If possible, use multiple phones to increase your chances. 4. Be prepared with all your info when you do get through. 5. Consider reaching out to your local representative for help. 6. Check if there's an online portal where you can submit your request. 7. Document everything - dates you called, who you spoke to, etc. Hope this helps! Don't give up, OP!

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try calling at opening time tomorrow.

Great tips! I'd add: sometimes the website updates at night, so check early morning for any changes to your claim status.

have you tried faxing? I know it sounds old school but I got a response within a week when I faxed my request

This whole system is a joke. They make it so hard to get what we're entitled to. It's like they're hoping we'll just give up 🤬

Quick question - when did you initially file your claim? There might be a waiting period before you can request modifications.

I filed about 2 months ago. The extension just came through last week, that's why I need to modify it now.

Ah gotcha. Yeah, you should definitely be able to modify it then. Keep pushing!

Pro tip: if u get through to ANY department, ask them to transfer u to the right one. Sometimes its easier to get through that way
