SDI claim update and direct deposit issues - need help ASAP before 5pm cutoff!

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get my SDI claim updated and get the direct deposit sent to my account. I've been trying to reach someone on the phone but it's been a nightmare. Has anyone had any luck getting through lately? I'm worried about missing the 5pm cutoff today. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated!

I found a way to solve SDI claim direct deposit issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjRFyVmihFM

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits 🙄

Seriously! It's like they're playing hide and seek with our money 🤬

I know right? I've started to wonder if there's even anyone actually working there lol

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda sketchy

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can you give more details about how it works? Do they just keep calling until they get through?

Yeah, basically it automates the whole process. It navigates the phone tree, waits on hold, and when a real person picks up, it calls you. No more listening to that awful hold music for hours!

Have you tried faxing your request? Sometimes that works better than calling.

I've been in the same boat. What worked for me was calling right when they open at 8am. Still took a few tries, but I finally got through. Good luck!

This. Early morning is def the way to go. Also, try different days of the week. I had luck on a Wednesday.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with SDI for months: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. 2. Try different times of day. Early morning and late afternoon seem to work best. 3. Be prepared with all your info when you do get through. They might transfer you, so have patience. 4. If you can't get through by phone, try reaching out via their online portal or even snail mail. 5. Consider contacting your local representative. Sometimes they can help push things along. 6. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 7. Check if there are any local SDI offices you can visit in person. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but you'll get there eventually!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! I'll definitely try some of these strategies. Really appreciate you taking the time to share all this info 🙏

lmao if only it were that simple 😂

I heard they updated their system recently. Anyone know if that's made things better or worse?

From what I've seen, it's somehow made things even worse 🤦‍♂️ Classic government efficiency at work!

Hey KaiEsmeralda! I just went through this exact same situation last month. Here's what finally worked for me: Call the 1-800-480-3287 number exactly at 8:00 AM (set multiple alarms!). When you get the menu, press 1-2-1 quickly. If you get the "high call volume" message, hang up immediately and redial. Don't wait on hold during peak times - it's a waste of time. I had to redial about 30 times but got through on a Tuesday morning. Also, make sure you have your case number, SSN, and bank routing info ready to go. The direct deposit change can be done over the phone once you reach someone. Don't give up - you've got this! 💪

This is super helpful! I'm dealing with the same issue right now. Quick question - when you say "hang up immediately" after the high call volume message, do you mean don't even try to stay on hold? I've been wasting so much time waiting in those endless queues 😩
