SDI claim status check - Sick and can't get through to anyone. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with my SDI claim. I've been really sick lately and I'm trying to check on the status of my account. I called before but got disconnected. Anyone else dealing with similar issues or have advice on how to get through to someone?

Ugh, I feel you. The SDI system is such a mess rn. I've been trying to get through for weeks. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits šŸ™„

Preach! šŸ™Œ I swear they make it difficult on purpose. Like, do they think we're doing this for fun?

I know right? It's like were playing a game of phone tag with a ghost šŸ‘»

Have you tried calling right when they open? I've had some luck getting through that way. Also, make sure you have all your info ready before you call. They'll ask for your SSN, claim number, and probably your firstborn child too lol

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

How long did you have to wait for the callback?

0 coins

It took about 2 hours for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still way better than being stuck on hold yourself!

Here's what I've learned from dealing with SDI for the past 3 months: • Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if you get disconnected. • Use the online portal to check your claim status when possible. • Document everything - dates you called, who you spoke to, what they said. • If you're really stuck, reach out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push things through. • Be prepared for long wait times. Have something to do while on hold. • Double-check all your paperwork before submitting. One small error can cause big delays. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. We're all in the same sinking boat 🚢

Great advice! I'd add: don't forget to certify every two weeks, even if you haven't heard back about your initial claim yet.

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been sick for weeks and can't get any info on my claim. It's so frustrating! Sending you good vibes and hoping we both get some answers soon šŸ¤ž

Hey Mei! I totally get your frustration - been through this myself recently. A few things that worked for me: 1) Try calling the alternate number (1-800-480-3287) instead of the main line - sometimes less busy. 2) Call right at 8am when they open, don't wait even a minute. 3) If you get through to someone, ask them to add a note to your file about your call so there's a record. 4) You can also try the "Contact EDD" form on their website - it takes a few days but they do respond. Hope you feel better soon and get your claim sorted out! šŸ’Ŗ
