SDI claim issues - Call keeps dropping, need advice on reaching a rep
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my SDI claim and I'm not sure what to do. The call keeps dropping when I try to get through to someone. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to actually speak with a representative?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The SDI phone system is a nightmare. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually talk to anyone 🙄

•Same here! I've tried calling at different times of the day, but it's always busy or I get disconnected. So frustrating!

•Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard thats the best time to get through

•Yeah, I've tried that too. No luck. It's like playing the lottery at this point 😫

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Wow, that sounds interesting. How long did you have to wait before they connected you?

•Idk man, sounds kinda sketchy. You sure it's legit?

•It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. And yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me so much time and frustration.

Have you tried emailing them instead? Sometimes that works better than calling, although it can take a few days to get a response.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with SDI for months: 1. Be persistent. Keep calling, even if it's frustrating. 2. Have all your documents ready before you call. 3. Take notes during your call, including the rep's name and ID number. 4. If you can't get through by phone, try their online portal or email. 5. Consider reaching out to your local state representative for help. 6. Join Facebook groups or forums dedicated to SDI issues for more tips. Hope this helps! Don't give up, you'll get through eventually.

•🤣🤣🤣 Ain't that the truth! Sometimes I think they're just playing a giant game of 'how long can we keep them on hold

Have you checked your claim status online? Sometimes you can find the info you need without having to call.

•I tried, but the online system is giving me an error. That's why I need to speak with someone directly 😕

I've been in the same boat! What worked for me was calling the alternate number (1-800-480-3287) instead of the main SDI line. Also try calling right at 8am when they open - set multiple alarms and be ready to dial exactly at 8:00. Another trick is to press 0 immediately when you hear the menu options, sometimes it bypasses the automated system. If you do get through, ask the rep to put a note on your account about the call drops so they're aware of the technical issues. Hang in there!
