SDI payments stopped mid-October despite doctor's extension - DE 2500A form unavailable online. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my SDI payments. I haven't received anything since mid-October, even though my doctor sent in an extension for my disability a few days later. The return-to-work date was updated in the system, but still no payment. I think I need to submit a continued claim certification (DE 2500A), but it's not available online. Anyone else dealing with this? Any advice on how to get through to someone on the phone?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The SDI system is such a mess rn. Have you tried faxing the DE 2500A form? Sometimes that works faster than waiting for them to process it online.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I hadn't thought about faxing it. Do you know where I can find the fax number?

•Yeah, np! The fax number is usually on their website under the 'Contact Us' section. Just make sure to include your claim number on every page you fax.

I've been there, buddy. The SDI system is a total nightmare. Have you tried calling them every day at exactly 8:01 AM? That's how I finally got through after weeks of trying.

Listen up, I've been through this rodeo before and I've got some tips for you: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, faxes, and online submissions. 2. If you can, get your doctor to resend the extension paperwork. Sometimes it gets lost in their system. 3. Try reaching out to your local state representative's office. They often have contacts within SDI who can help push things along. 4. Be persistent but polite when you do get through to someone. The person on the other end of the line isn't responsible for the system's failures. 5. Check your SDI account online daily for any updates or messages. 6. If all else fails, consider filing a formal complaint with the Department of Industrial Relations. Hang in there, it's a frustrating process but you'll get through it!

Have you tried using the online portal to check the status of your claim? Sometimes there's more info there than what they tell you over the phone.

•Yeah, I've been checking it daily. It just shows the updated return-to-work date, but nothing about the missing payments 😕

•Oof, that sucks. Sounds like you might need to escalate this to a supervisor then.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Wait, seriously? How does that even work? Sounds too good to be true.

•I was skeptical too, but I tried it and it actually worked. The service basically automates the whole calling and waiting process.

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😡

•I get it, but for me, it was worth it. I was losing way more than $20 by not getting my issues resolved. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know?

This happened to me last year. Turns out they had my old address on file and all my mail was getting sent to the wrong place. Double-check your contact info in the system!

I'm in the same boat, friend. Been waiting on payments since September. This whole system is held together with duct tape and prayers at this point.

Pro tip: If you can't get through on the main line, try calling one of their auxiliary offices. Sometimes they can help or at least transfer you to someone who can. I've had luck with the Santa Ana office before.
