SDI payments stopped since Oct 2024, recertified but still no money. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I haven't received any SDI payments since October 2024. My doctor sent in the recertification on December 3rd, and it's been extended again until January 14th, 2025, but still no money. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? It's been months, and I'm starting to get really worried. Any advice on how to speed things up or what might be causing this?

I found a way to solve SDI payment delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0nFak_iOzM

Ugh, that sucks! I've been dealing with SDI delays too, but not for that long. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've tried calling so many times, but I can never get through. It's like their phone lines are always busy or something. 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get through if youre the first one dialing.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call.

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

How long did you have to wait once it connected you?

It took about an hour and a half total, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

This is ridiculous. The system is so broken. We shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to get the benefits we're entitled to. 🤬

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes there are messages or updates there that can give you more info about whats going on with your claim.

Santiago Martinez

Yeah, I've been checking it obsessively. No new messages or updates. It's like my claim is just sitting there in limbo.

I hate to say it, but you might want to consider reaching out to your local state representative. They sometimes have ways to expedite these things when the system fails us.

This 👆 I had to do this last year when my payments stopped for no reason. My rep's office got it sorted in like a week.

Wow, I hadn't even thought of that. Do I just look up my local rep and email their office?

Yep, exactly. Most have a 'constituent services' section on their website. Explain your situation and they should be able to help.

Here's what I know about SDI payment delays based on my experience and research: 1. Recertification can sometimes cause delays, especially if there's any discrepancy between the new info and your original claim. 2. The end of the year/beginning of new year can slow things down due to budget changes and system updates. 3. Sometimes claims get flagged for review randomly, which can cause long delays. 4. If your employer hasn't submitted all the required info, that can hold things up. 5. System glitches happen more often than they admit. What you can do: - Keep calling. Use the tip about calling right at opening time. - Check your online account daily for updates. - Make sure your doctor's office submitted everything correctly. - Contact your employer to ensure they've submitted all necessary info. - Reach out to your state rep as others have suggested. - Consider using a paid service to get through on the phone if you can afford it. Hang in there, OP. The system sucks, but persistence usually pays off eventually.

Ive been in the same boat. It took me threatening legal action to finally get my payments. Not saying you should do that, but sometimes you gotta play hardball.

Question for the OP: Has your condition changed at all since the original claim? Sometimes even small changes can throw a wrench in the whole process.

Santiago Martinez

Not really, no. It's pretty much the same as when I first filed. That's what makes this so frustrating.

guys. i know this sounds crazy. but has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of uploading them online? I did this out of desperation and it actually worked faster.

I know, right? But I swear it worked. Sometimes older tech cuts through the bs
