SDI Application Stuck Waiting for Medical Certification - Need Advice ASAP!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my SDI application. I submitted everything but I'm still waiting on the medical certification from my doctor. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm really worried about getting my payments started ASAP. Any advice on how to speed things up or what I should do next?

Ugh, I feel ya. I was in the same boat last month. Have you tried calling SDI to check if they received the certification? Sometimes docs say they sent it but it gets lost in the void šŸ™„

Thanks for the tip! I haven't called yet, but I'll definitely give that a shot. Did you have any luck when you called?

Yeah, actually! Turns out my doc's office forgot to hit 'send' on the electronic form šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø Once I knew that, I bugged them and got it sorted in a couple days.

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Sounds sketchy af. You sure this isn't a scam?

Nah, it's legit. I was skeptical too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo

How long did it take to get through? I'm desperate but $20 is a lot rn

For me, it took about 45 mins. Way better than the 3+ hours I spent trying on my own before šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Here's what I learned from my SDI journey: • Always follow up with your doctor's office to confirm they sent the certification • Keep a log of all your calls and who you spoke with • If possible, use the online portal to check your claim status • Don't be afraid to be persistent (but polite) with both SDI and your doctor • Consider reaching out to your local state representative if you hit a wall Hang in there! The system is frustrating, but you'll get through it šŸ’Ŗ

Great advice! I wish I'd known all this when I started my claim. Took me 2 months to get my first payment 😭

Have you checked your spam folder? I know it sounds dumb, but I missed an important email from them because it went to spam. Just throwing it out there!

Oh man, I didn't even think of that! Gonna go check right now, thanks!

Unpopular opinion: sometimes it's faster to just start over with a new application. I know it sucks, but after waiting 6 weeks for my doc's cert, I reapplied and got approved in 10 days. YMMV tho

Woah, really? That's wild. Did you have to get a new medical cert for the second application?

Yep, had to bug my doc again. But they were quicker the second time around cuz they knew I was in a bind.

Anyone else notice that SDI seems to move faster if you bug them on social media? I tweeted at them every day for a week and suddenly my claim started moving šŸ‘€
