SDI application stuck due to doctor's note date mismatch - need advice ASAP

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my SDI application. I submitted it a couple weeks ago, but I haven't heard anything back yet. The thing is, my doctor's note has a different start date than what I initially reported. I'm worried this might cause issues with my claim. Has anyone dealt with something similar? Any advice on what I should say when I finally get through to someone on the phone?

Ugh, I feel ya. The SDI system is such a mess rn. I had a similar issue with dates not matching up. When you get through, just be super clear about the discrepancy and ask if it affects your claim. They might need you to submit an updated form or something. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! Did you have to submit any additional paperwork when this happened to you?

Yeah, I had to get my doc to fill out a new form with the correct dates. It was a pain, but it sorted everything out. Just be prepared for some back and forth šŸ™„

This happened to me too! The agent I spoke to was actually pretty helpful. They walked me through the whole process of correcting the dates. Don't stress too much, OP!

Here's a pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting for hours. I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me so much time and frustration. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call šŸ¤”

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. I was desperate after trying for weeks to get through. The $20 was worth it to finally sort out my claim. Plus, think about how much time you waste on hold - for me, that was worth way more than $20.

Listen up, folks. I've been through this rodeo before, so here's what you need to know about dealing with SDI and date discrepancies: • First, don't panic. This happens more often than you'd think. • Get all your paperwork in order. Have your initial application, doctor's note, and any other relevant docs ready. • When you call, be polite but firm. The person on the other end is probably dealing with a ton of cases. • Clearly explain the discrepancy between your reported date and the doctor's note. • Ask specifically: 1) Does this affect my claim? 2) What steps do I need to take to correct this? • If they say you need to submit a correction, ask for detailed instructions and get the agent's name and ID number. • Follow up with an email summarizing your call and the instructions you received. • Set a reminder to follow up if you don't hear back within a week. Remember, persistence is key. Don't let your claim fall through the cracks because of a simple date mix-up. You've got this! šŸ’Ŗ

Quick question - how long ago did you submit your application? I'm in the same boat and wondering what kind of wait times people are seeing these days.

I submitted mine about 2 weeks ago. From what I've heard, it can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks to get a response. But with the date issue, I'm worried it might take even longer 😩

Oof, yeah that tracks with what I've been seeing. Fingers crossed we both hear back soon! šŸ¤ž

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help speed things up or at least get you more info about your claim status.
