SDI can't reach my employer - how to provide supplemental pay info and expedite my claim?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my SDI application. They said they couldn't reach my company when they mailed the information request last time. I want to provide supplemental pay info over the phone to make sure my application is processed correctly. Also, I'm not sure if they need info from my doctor. Has anyone dealt with this before? Any advice on how to get through to them?

Ugh, dealing with SDI is such a pain! I had a similar issue last year. Have you tried faxing your pay info? Sometimes that works better than waiting for them to contact your employer.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I didn't even think about faxing. Do you know if they have a specific fax number for this kind of thing?

•Yeah, there should be a fax number on their website. Just make sure to include your claim number on every page you send!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Here's what you need to do: 1. Call SDI first thing in the morning when they open. Less wait time. 2. Have all your docs ready - paystubs, doctor's note, claim number, etc. 3. Ask specifically about the supplemental pay info and what format they need it in. 4. For the doctor info, always better to provide it even if they don't ask. Better safe than sorry. 5. Get the name and ID of the rep you talk to, in case you need to follow up. 6. If they can't help, ask to speak to a supervisor. 7. Keep a log of all your calls and what was discussed. Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes.

Pro tip: if you cant get thru on the phone, try their social media. Sometimes they respond faster there. worth a shot!

I'm in the same boat, been trying to get my claim sorted for weeks. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous. Anyone else feel like were just numbers to them?

Quick question - did you check if your claim is flagged for any reason? Sometimes that can cause delays and extra info requests.

•I didn't know that was a thing. How do I check if my claim is flagged?

•You can ask when you call in, or sometimes it shows up on your online account. Worth checking!

I went through this exact same situation a few months ago! My employer wasn't responding to SDI's requests either. What worked for me was gathering all my own documentation - recent paystubs, employment verification letter, and my doctor's forms - then calling SDI directly to provide everything over the phone. I called right at 8 AM when they opened and got through after about a 45-minute wait. The rep was actually really helpful once I got connected and was able to expedite my claim once they had all the info. Definitely bring up the employer communication issue when you call - they have alternative processes for this exact scenario. Good luck!
