SDI claim filed over a month ago, no response - How to check status or speed up EDD process?
I filed an SDI claim over a month ago and still haven't heard anything back. My doctor was supposed to submit the info but I'm not sure if they did. Has anyone else experienced long delays with their SDI claims? I'm getting worried because I really need this money. Any advice on how to check the status or speed things up?

Welcome to EDD hell, my friend. I've been waiting for 3 months now. It's like they're playing a game of "who can ignore us the longest" π

Has anyone tried going to an EDD office in person? wondering if that might help speed things up

β’I tried that last month. Waited 4 hours just to be told they cant help with SDI claims in person. Total waste of time

β’Itβs frustrating that in-person visits donβt help. Maybe they should improve their in-office support.

Have you tried calling them? I know it's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

β’Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and be ready to hit redial a million times. It sucks but it works

β’I second this! Early morning calls have the best chance. It's not foolproof, but better odds.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your online account first. Sometimes updates are there even if you haven't gotten mail. 2. Call your doctor's office and confirm they submitted the paperwork. Get the date they sent it. 3. If it's been more than 2 weeks since they sent it, start calling EDD daily. 4. Be persistent! Don't give up. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. 5. If all else fails, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things through. Good luck! The system is a mess but don't let them wear you down.

An alternative to consider is using a service like Claimyr, which some users have attested to as effective in reaching EDD. While it's not ideal to pay for support you should get for free, Claimyr offers a potential solution to cut through long wait times. It's important to weigh the $20 cost against how quickly you need assistance. Also, ensure your doctor has sent the necessary documents and possibly follow up with them. Persistence is crucial with EDD, whether it's through constant calls, checking your online account, or utilizing different channels like state representatives for assistance. Remember, many are in the same situation, so you're not alone. Good luck!

Have you checked your spam folder? I know it sounds dumb but I missed an important EDD email because it went to spam. Just throwing it out there!

β’Not dumb at all! Important emails can easily end up there, always worth a look.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

β’While Claimyr seems useful, it's worth checking reviews and considering if the cost is worth it for your situation.

idk if this helps but I had a similar issue last year. Turns out my doc sent the form to the wrong fax number π€¦ββοΈ Might be worth double checking that with your doctor's office

Ugh, I feel your pain. I'm in the same boat. Filed in June and crickets since then. It's like they're purposely trying to make us give up π€¬

β’Itβs awful we have to rely on credit and family for support due to delays. Hope it works out for you soon.
