SDI payments delayed for 2+ months, no payments received since claim start. Help!

I've been waiting for my SDI payments for over 2 months now and haven't received a single one since my claim started. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? I'm getting really frustrated and don't know what to do. Any advice on how to speed up the process or get in touch with someone who can help?

I found a way to solve SDI payment delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xhrF070ytU

Ugh, I feel your pain! I was in the same boat a few months ago. It took me almost 3 months to get my first payment. The system is so broken 😤

3 months?! That's insane. How did you manage to survive that long without any income?

It was rough, not gonna lie. Had to borrow money from family and max out my credit cards. Not ideal, but what else could I do? 🤷‍♂️

This is why we need to overhaul the entire system. It's failing the people who need it most.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be persistent and keep calling until you get through to a real person.

I've tried calling so many times, but I always get stuck on hold forever and then the call drops. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You might have better luck getting through.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken we have to pay just to get help? 🤦‍♂️

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying to get through, I was desperate enough to try anything. It's not ideal, but it got the job done.

Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

Yeah, so basically you go to their website, choose the department you need to call, pay the fee, and then they start calling for you. When they get a real person, they connect the call to your phone. Saved me hours of frustration.

Here's what you need to do to try and resolve your SDI payment delay: 1. Document everything: Keep a log of all your attempts to contact SDI, including dates, times, and any reference numbers. 2. Check your online account: Make sure all your information is up to date and there are no pending tasks or requests for additional information. 3. Contact your healthcare provider: Ensure they've submitted all necessary medical certifications. 4. Reach out to your local state representative or senator: They often have staff dedicated to helping constituents with state agency issues. 5. File a formal complaint: If all else fails, file a complaint with the Department of Industrial Relations. 6. Consider legal aid: There are non-profit organizations that provide free legal assistance for SDI issues. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system can be frustrating, but keep pushing until you get your payments.

have u checked ur bank info on the SDI website? I had a similar isue and it turned out my direct deposit info was wrong 🤦‍♀️

This happened to me last year. Turns out there was a problem with my claim that no one bothered to tell me about. Keep calling and don't give up!

What was the problem with your claim? How did you finally find out?

They said some of my medical info was missing. But I swear I submitted everything! Once I got someone on the phone and resubmitted the docs, it got resolved pretty quick.

SDI is such a joke these days. They're probably using our money to fund their lavish office parties while we're here struggling to pay rent. 🙄

Cmon man, that's a bit much. The system's broken but the people working there are probably just as frustrated as we are.

0 coins

Maybe, but something's gotta change. We can't keep living like this, waiting months for money we're entitled to.

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things along.

2 months is nothing, try 6 months! 😭 I'm about ready to give up on this whole process.

6 months?! That's insane! How are you surviving?

Barely. Had to move back in with my parents. Not ideal at 35, but what can you do? 🤷‍♂️

I'm going through the exact same thing right now - filed my claim 10 weeks ago and still haven't seen a penny. It's absolutely maddening when you're dealing with a disability and then have to stress about money on top of it. I've been following some of the advice here about calling early in the morning and documenting everything. One thing that helped me was creating a spreadsheet to track all my calls, reference numbers, and what each person told me. At least that way I have a clear record when I finally do get through to someone who can actually help. Hang in there - we shouldn't have to go through this but we're not alone in the struggle.
