SDI payments stopped since January 17th - doctor filled forms but no money. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated. I haven't received any SDI payments since mid-January, and it's already March! My doctor filled out all the necessary forms, but still nothing. My return-to-work date was supposed to be March 10th, but I'm worried about how I'm going to manage without these payments. Has anyone else experienced such a long delay? Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I was in the same boat last year. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare to get through, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've been trying to call for weeks, but I can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59 AM. It's still tough, but your chances are way better.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

Check your online account if you haven't already. Sometimes there's info there about why payments are held up. Could be missing info or a flag on your claim.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical too, but I was desperate. It worked for me and I finally got my issue resolved.

$20 just to talk to someone? The system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

I know, it sucks we have to pay. But for me, it was worth it to finally get answers and my payments sorted.

Have you checked if your claim is still active? Sometimes they deactivate claims if they don't receive updated medical info. Might be worth double-checking with your doctor to make sure they sent everything.

I didn't even know that was a thing! I'll definitely follow up with my doctor. Thanks for the heads up!

SDI is such a mess rn. I've been waiting 6 weeks for my first payment. Apparently there's a huge backlog. Hang in there, OP!

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research: • First, double-check your online account. Look for any messages or requests for additional information. • Ensure all your paperwork is up to date. Sometimes claims stall because of missing or outdated medical info. • If you can't get through on the phone, try contacting them through the online messaging system. It's slow, but you might get a response. • Consider reaching out to your local state representative's office. They sometimes can help push things along. • Keep a log of all your attempts to contact SDI. This can be useful if you need to escalate your case. • If you're in dire financial straits, look into local resources for temporary assistance while you wait. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! 💪

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! This is incredibly helpful. I'll start working through this list right away.

Great advice! I'd add: check if your employer submitted their part of the form. Sometimes that's the holdup.

This happened to me last year. Turns out they had my old address and all the mail was getting returned. Double check your contact info is up to date!

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds ancient, but sometimes it gets through faster than mail or online submissions.

Faxing? What year is it? 😂 But seriously, I'll try anything at this point. Thanks for the suggestion!
