PFL application with EDD - No response or payment after a month. Help!

Ugh, I feel you. I was in the same boat last year. It took them almost 2 months to process my claim! 😤 Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for PFL: 1. Document everything. Keep copies of all forms you submit. 2. If you can, submit your claim online. It's usually faster. 3. Check your account regularly for updates. 4. If you don't hear back within 2 weeks, start calling. 5. Be persistent. Sometimes you have to be a squeaky wheel. 6. Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of mailing/uploading? I heard it might be faster but idk if thats just an urban legend lol

Just a heads up, there was a news article last week saying EDD is experiencing major backlogs due to staff shortages. Might explain the delays everyone's experiencing.
