PFL claim submitted a month ago, no paycheck from EDD since. What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. My disability ended about a month ago and I submitted a claim for Paid Family Leave right after. The thing is, I haven't received a single paycheck since then. It's been radio silence from EDD. No updates, no notices, nothing. I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay with their PFL claim? Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I feel ya. The EDD is such a mess rn. I had a similar issue last year and it took FOREVER to get sorted. Have you tried calling them? That's usually the best way to get answers, even tho it's a pain in the butt to get through.

•I've been trying to call but no luck so far. It's like trying to win the lottery or something 😫

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get through if youre one of the first callers of the day.

•Or try calling at the end of the day! Sometimes theres less traffic then. Good luck OP!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds sketchy af. You sure this isn't a scam?

•Nah, it's legit. I was skeptical too but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

•20 bucks tho? That's steep just to talk to someone who should be available for free 🙄

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. Time is money, ya know? And I was losing my mind trying to get through on my own.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact EDD. 2. Check your UI Online account for any pending tasks or messages. 3. Send a secure message through your UI Online account explaining your situation. 4. If you can't get through on the phone, try contacting your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help expedite EDD issues. 5. Make sure all your paperwork is in order. Double-check that you submitted everything correctly. 6. Be patient (I know it sucks) but also persistent. Keep trying to contact them. 7. If it goes on for too long, consider filing a complaint with the EDD. Hang in there! The system is overwhelmed but you'll get your money eventually.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: if you do get through to someone, get their name and ID number. It helps if you need to reference the call later.

This happened to me last year. Turns out they needed additional documentation but never told me 🤦♂️ Def try to get someone on the phone if you can

•Oof, that's frustrating. Did they at least backpay you once it got sorted out?

•Yeah, eventually. But it took like 3 months total. Was not fun.

idk if this helps but I've heard some ppl have luck contacting EDD through social media. Like, tweeting at them or messaging on FB. Might be worth a shot if nothing else is working

•This actually worked for me once! I tweeted at them and got a DM asking for my info. Problem solved in like 2 days.
