CA EDD PFL claim submitted 3+ weeks ago - no updates, what to do?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my California EDD PFL caregiving claim. I submitted it over three weeks ago, but I haven't heard a peep from them. No updates, no communication, nothing. It's like my claim vanished into thin air. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next? I'm getting worried about the delay and could really use some guidance.

Ugh, welcome to the club. 🙄 EDD is notorious for being slow AF. I waited almost 2 months before I heard anything back on my claim. It's frustrating, but unfortunately pretty common.

•2 months?! That's insane. How did you manage financially during that time?

•It was rough, not gonna lie. Had to dip into savings and borrow from family. EDD really needs to get their act together.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you can get more info if you actually talk to a human (shocking, I know 🙄). Here's a tip: I found this site called claimyr.com that has a calling tool. It dials through the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me when I was desperate. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I'm skeptical. How do we know this isn't just some scam?

•I get the skepticism, but it's legit. I was desperate and took a chance. Got through to an agent in about an hour. Way better than spending all day hitting redial.

•Can confirm, I used it too. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta spend money to save time, ya know?

Here's what I've learned from my experience with EDD: 1. Document everything. Keep copies of all your submitted forms. 2. Follow up regularly. Call or use the online portal to check status. 3. Be persistent. Sometimes claims fall through the cracks. 4. If possible, have your employer follow up too. It can speed things up. 5. Consider contacting your local state representative. They can sometimes intervene. Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating, but don't give up!

•Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start following up more regularly. Do you think it's worth trying to call them every day?

•Every day might be overkill and frustrating. I'd say try once or twice a week. If you don't get through, that's when something like that Claimyr service might be worth a shot.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes EDD emails end up there. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date in their system. I once missed updates because they had my old phone number. 🤦♂️

•Oh man, I didn't even think about the spam folder! Checking now... nope, nothing there. But good tip about the contact info, I'll double-check that. Thanks!

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out via social media. Sometimes their Twitter team is more responsive than the phone lines. Worth a shot! 🤷♀️

•This! I got a response within a day when I tweeted at them. Way faster than phone or email.

I feel your pain, OP. The waiting game with EDD is the worst. While you're waiting, make sure you're keeping detailed records of your caregiving duties. It might help if they need more info later. Hang in there! 💪
