PFL payment delay - no money received yet. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my unemployment claim. I haven't received a payment from Paid Family Leave yet and I'm getting really worried. Has anyone else experienced delays with their PFL payments? Any advice on what I should do next or who I should contact? I'm starting to feel pretty desperate here.

Ugh, I feel your pain OP. The PFL system is a total nightmare rn. I waited almost 2 months for my first payment to come through. Have you tried calling their customer service line? It's a pain to get through, but sometimes you can get lucky.

2 months?! That's insane. I thought my 3 week wait was bad. The system is so broken 😤

Thanks for the reply. I've been trying to call but no luck getting through so far. Guess I'll keep trying šŸ˜“

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. That's how I finally got through after weeks of trying!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can confirm, I used it too. Got through in like an hour when I'd been trying for weeks on my own.

Have you checked your claim status online? Sometimes there's info there about why payments are delayed. Could be missing docs or something.

Oof, PFL is the worst. I had to email my state rep to finally get my claim sorted out. Might be worth a shot if you're really stuck!

That's a great idea, I hadn't thought of that. Do you just find their email on the govt website?

Yep! Just google your district and 'state representative'. They usually have a contact form or email listed. Good luck!

Listen up, folks. I've been through the PFL ringer and come out the other side. Here's what you need to know: • First, double-check all your docs are in order. Missing paperwork is the #1 reason for delays. • If you can't get through on the phone, try their online chat feature. It's hit or miss, but sometimes works. • Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. This can help if you need to escalate your case. • If you're really stuck, contact your state rep or senator. They can often cut through the red tape. • Don't give up! It's frustrating as hell, but persistence pays off. Hang in there, OP. You'll get your money eventually. The system sucks, but you've got this! šŸ’Ŗ

Have you tried faxing your docs? I know it sounds ancient, but sometimes that gets faster results than online submissions. Worth a shot!

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Been waiting 6 weeks now. This is ridiculous. How are we supposed to survive without income?

0 coins

6 weeks?! That's insane. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this too. Hopefully we both get some answers soon.

PSA: If your claim is taking forever, check if you qualify for any local assistance programs. Some cities/counties have emergency funds for situations like this. It's not a solution, but it might help tide you over.

Hey OP, I went through this exact same nightmare last year. Here's what finally worked for me: 1. Call the technical support line instead of the main number - it's 1-833-978-2511. They can sometimes transfer you to the right department faster. 2. Try calling right at 8 AM on weekdays. Set multiple alarms and start dialing exactly when they open. 3. If you have any documentation from your doctor or employer, make sure it's uploaded to your online account. Sometimes they're waiting for something you don't even know about. 4. Keep certifying for benefits even if you haven't been paid yet - don't let your claim lapse! I know it's super stressful when you're counting on that money. Took me about 5 weeks total but I did eventually get all my back pay. Don't give up! šŸ¤ž
