PFL application stuck for a month after disability ended - no updates, need help ASAP!
I applied for Paid Family Leave (PFL) a month ago right after my disability ended, and I still haven't heard anything back. It's been radio silence and I'm getting really worried. Has anyone else experienced such a long wait time? I need this resolved ASAP as bills are piling up. Any advice on how to speed up the process or at least get an update on my application status?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last year. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤 How long did it take for your application to go through?

It took about 6 weeks for me, but I had to call them like 20 times before I finally got through. Keep trying, dont give up!

Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have a better chance of getting through.

Here's what I'd recommend: 1. Keep calling daily. It's annoying, but persistence pays off. 2. Check your online account for any updates or requests for additional info. 3. Contact your local representative. They can sometimes help expedite things. 4. Make sure you've submitted all required documents. 5. If you're really desperate, consider reaching out on social media. Sometimes public pressure works. Hang in there! The system is frustratingly slow, but you'll get through it eventually.

Thank you so much for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try all of these. Didn't even think about contacting my rep!

This is solid advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online update. It might come in handy later.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

I've used it twice now. It's a lifesaver when you're desperate to talk to a human!

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes important emails end up there. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date in their system.

Good idea! Just checked and nothing there, but I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks!

For real tho. How hard is it to set up a decent online system? My local pizza joint has better tracking than the govt 🍕

Quick question - did you receive any kind of confirmation when you first applied? If not, it's possible your application didn't go through properly.

Yeah, I got an email confirmation. At least I know they received it!

idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue last year. Turns out there was a glitch in their system and my application was stuck in limbo. Had to reapply. Might be worth asking if that could be the case for you too.
