PFL application: No response after a month. Normal wait time?
Has anyone else been waiting forever to hear back about their paid family leave? It's been almost a month since I applied and still no word. Starting to get worried about paying bills. Anyone know how long this usually takes or if there's a way to speed things up?

Ugh, I feel you. I've been waiting for 6 weeks now. It's ridiculous how long they make us wait. Have you tried calling them? I heard sometimes that can help move things along.

•I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤 How are we supposed to survive without income for this long?

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? How long did you have to wait?

•It really does work! I was skeptical too, but I was desperate. I waited about 2 hours, but I didn't have to be on the phone that whole time. The service called me when an agent picked up.

•20 bucks tho? Thats kinda steep for something that should be free 🙄

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. I was losing way more than $20 each day I couldn't get through. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know?

Here's what I know about the paid family leave process: • Processing time is usually 2-3 weeks, but can take up to 6-8 weeks during busy periods • Make sure all your paperwork is filled out correctly and completely • If you haven't heard back after 4 weeks, try to contact them • You can check your claim status online through their portal • Sometimes they need additional info and will send a letter - check your mail carefully! • If you're really in a bind, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes help speed things up. Hope this helps! Hang in there, the system is slow but it usually works out in the end.

•Great advice! I'd add that keeping a log of all your calls and attempts to contact them can be helpful if you need to escalate the issue later.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes their emails end up there. I almost missed an important update because of that!

idk if this helps, but I had luck reaching out on Twitter. Their social media team sometimes responds faster than phone/email.

Ive been threw this before. It sucks but hang in their. The money will come eventually, just might take a while. Maybe see if you can get an extension on some bills?
