PFL claim stuck for 3 weeks - no processing, no updates. Anyone else?

Anyone else waiting forever for their paid family leave to be processed? It's been three weeks for me and still nothing. Starting to get worried about bills piling up. Has anyone had any luck getting through to someone on the phone?

Three weeks? That's nothing, I've been waiting for 2 months now! 😤 The system is so backed up, it's ridiculous. I've tried calling every day but can never get through. Starting to feel like I'm shouting into the void.

2 months?! That's insane. Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? I've heard sometimes they can help speed things up.

Yeah, I sent an email last week but haven't heard back yet. Guess they're swamped too. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Oof, 2 months is rough. Hang in there! šŸ’Ŗ

I feel ya, OP. The waiting game is the worst. Have you checked your online account to see if there are any updates or if they need any additional info from you? Sometimes that can be the holdup.

Pro tip: keep calling first thing in the morning, right when they open. That's how I finally got through after weeks of trying. Good luck!

What time do they open? I've been trying mid-day and it's always busy.

They open at 8am. Set your alarm and start dialing at 7:59! šŸ˜…

Guys, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! 😔

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to try anything. Got through in less than an hour.

Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

Yeah, so basically you pay on their website, enter your phone number, and they start calling the EDD for you. When they get a real person, your phone rings and you're connected. Saved me days of frustration.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with paid family leave (buckle up, it's a long one): • First, make sure ALL your paperwork is in order. Double and triple check everything before submitting. • If you haven't already, create an online account to track your claim. Sometimes updates appear there before you get anything in the mail. • Be persistent with calling. Yes, it's a pain, but it's often the only way to get answers. • If you're really stuck, reach out to your state representative or senator. They often have staff dedicated to helping with these issues. • Document everything. Keep a log of when you call, who you talk to, and what they say. • If you're in dire financial straits, look into local resources for temporary assistance while you wait. Remember, the system is overwhelmed right now, but stay persistent. You'll get through eventually!

Has anyone had luck with the online chat feature? I've been trying to get through there but it always says 'all agents are busy'.

0 coins

I got through once after trying for days. But then the chat disconnected halfway through. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Online chat is useless imho. Phone is the only way to get real help.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I'm in the same boat, 4 weeks and counting. Bills are piling up and I'm starting to panic. This is NOT how the system is supposed to work!

Have you checked if theres any local non-profits that can help with bills while you wait? Some places offer temporary assistance for situations like this.

That's a good idea, I'll look into it. Thanks!
