PFL case stuck in processing for 6 weeks - need help ASAP!
Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated with my paid family leave case. It's been in processing for 6 weeks now and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced such a long wait time? I need this resolved ASAP as bills are piling up. Any advice on how to speed things up or what might be causing the delay?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I was in the same boat last year. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that can help move things along.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way.

6 weeks is actually pretty normal these days. The system is totally overwhelmed. I know it sucks, but hang in there!

•Really? That's so long though. How are people supposed to survive without income for that long?

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research about speeding up paid family leave cases: 1. Documentation is key. Make sure you've submitted ALL required paperwork. 2. Follow up regularly. Call or email at least once a week for updates. 3. Contact your local representative. Sometimes they can help expedite cases. 4. Check your online account daily for any requests for additional info. 5. If you're facing financial hardship, mention this when you contact them. Some states have provisions to expedite cases due to hardship. 6. Consider reaching out on social media. Some agencies are more responsive there. 7. Double-check that your employer submitted their part of the paperwork. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time.

This whole system is a joke. We pay into it our whole lives and then when we need it, we have to jump through a million hoops. 🤡

Have you considered reaching out to a local non-profit that helps with these kinds of issues? They might have some insider knowledge or connections.

•That's a great idea, I hadn't thought of that. Do you know of any specific organizations?

•It depends on your area, but try googling 'legal aid' or 'workers rights organization' + your city name. Good luck!
