PFL claim stuck in processing for over a month - need advice!

Hey everyone, I'm getting really frustrated with my Paid Family Leave claim. I submitted it over a month ago and there's been zero progress. Has anyone else experienced such a long processing time? I'm starting to worry about my finances and it's messing up my plans. Any advice on how to speed things up or at least get some information on what's going on?

I found a way to solve long Paid Family Leave processing, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HRVRdZQJ9k

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through the same thing last year. It took them almost 2 months to process my claim. The system is so backed up its ridiculous. Have you tried calling them? That's what finally worked for me.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating! Did you do anything special to get someone on the line?

Honestly, it took me like 50 tries over a few days. I just kept redialing whenever I got the busy signal. It's a total pain, but persistence paid off eventually. Good luck!

50 tries?! 😱 That's insane. There's gotta be a better way. Has anyone found a trick to get through faster?

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Wow, that sounds too good to be true. Have you actually tried it? Is it legit?

Yep, I've used it twice now. It's legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Idk man, paying to get through to a government service we already pay for with our taxes? Seems kinda sketchy to me. 🤔

I get where you're coming from, but for me, time is money. I'd rather pay $20 than waste hours trying to get through. But to each their own! 🤷‍♂️

Here's what I've learned from dealing with PFL claims: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 2. If possible, submit any additional documentation online through their portal. 3. Reach out to your local state representative. Sometimes they can help expedite things. 4. Be prepared to wait. Unfortunately, long processing times are common. 5. If you're in dire financial straits, look into emergency assistance programs in your area. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but it will get resolved eventually.

lol welcome to the wonderful world of government efficiency 🤡 I swear they must be using carrier pigeons to process these claims

Carrier pigeons? You're giving them too much credit. Pretty sure it's just a bunch of hamsters running on wheels 🐹

LMAO 🤣 you're right, my bad. Those pigeons are way too high-tech for this operation

Has anyone tried contacting them through social media? Sometimes companies are more responsive there because it's public.

I tried that once. They just replied with a generic 'please call our customer service' message. Total waste of time. 🙄

Im in the same boat. submitted my claim 6 weeks ago and crickets. This is rediculous. How are we supposed to survive while they take there sweet time?

0 coins

Preach! 🙌 The system is broken. They expect us to wait forever while bills pile up. It's not right.

Quick question for those who've been through this before - do they backpay from the date you submitted the claim, or only from when they approve it?

0 coins

They should backpay from your claim date, not approval date. At least that's how it worked for me last year.

Oh thank god. That's a relief. Thanks for the info!

I'm dealing with a similar situation right now - submitted my PFL claim 5 weeks ago and it's still showing "pending" with no updates. I've been checking the portal daily but nothing changes. The financial stress is real! From what I'm reading here, it sounds like persistence with calling is key, even though it's a nightmare to get through. @Toot-n-Mighty your suggestion about contacting a state representative is interesting - I hadn't thought of that. Has anyone actually tried that route and seen results? Also wondering if there are specific times of day that work better for calling? Like early morning or late afternoon when they might be less busy?
