PFL claim stuck in EDD processing for 2+ months, no updates or payments. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated with my Paid Family Leave claim. I filed back in November and it's been processing for over 2 months now. I haven't received any updates or payments from EDD. Has anyone else experienced such a long wait time? Any advice on what I should do next? I'm getting worried about my finances.

I found a way to solve long Paid Family Leave delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubUJUZll8rU

Ugh, I feel your pain! I was in the same boat last year. It took them almost 3 months to process my claim. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that can help speed things up.

•I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating! How many times did you have to call before you got someone on the line?

•Honestly, I lost count 😅 I think I called like 50 times over a couple of weeks before I finally got through. It's a nightmare, but persistence is key!

•50 times?! That's insane. The system is so broken 😡

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then sends the call to your phone when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but I can confirm it's 100% legit. Saved me hours of frustration!

•How long did you have to wait before they connected you?

•It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to do anything. The service called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than constantly redialing myself!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your documents related to your claim 2. Try calling EDD first thing in the morning (right when they open) 3. If you can't get through, consider using a service like Claimyr 4. When you do get someone, ask for specific reasons for the delay 5. Request a supervisor if the agent isn't helpful 6. Follow up with an email summarizing your call 7. If all else fails, contact your local state representative Don't give up! The squeaky wheel gets the grease 💪

•Great tips! I'd add that keeping a log of all your calls and interactions can be super helpful if you need to escalate the issue later.

This is why we need to reform the entire system. It's ridiculous that people have to wait months for benefits they're entitled to. We should all be writing to our representatives about this!

•Preach! 🙌 The whole thing is a joke. They expect us to live on air while they take their sweet time?

•Totally agree. But good luck getting politicians to care about anything that doesn't directly benefit them 🙄

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling some of the other EDD numbers (like the employer line or the Spanish line). Sometimes those have shorter wait times and the agents can still help you.

•Isn't that kinda unethical tho? What if you're taking the spot of someone who actually needs that specific line?

•I get where you're coming from, but when the system is this broken, you gotta do what you gotta do 🤷♂️

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Filed my PFL claim in early November and still nothing. I've been checking my online account daily but it just says "processing" with no estimated timeline. The worst part is not knowing if there's an issue with my claim or if it's just the normal incredibly slow process. I'm starting to panic about my bills. Has anyone had success with contacting their local assembly member's office? I heard they sometimes have more pull with EDD than regular citizens calling in.
