EDD Paid Family Leave Non-Payment Issue - Need Help Getting Through!
Hey everyone, I'm having some serious issues with my paid family leave payments. I filed my claim a while back and I still haven't received any money. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm getting really worried because bills are piling up and I don't know what to do. Any advice on how to get through to someone at the EDD office? I've been trying to call but it's impossible to get a human on the line.

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through the same thing last year. It's like they want us to give up or something. Have you tried faxing them? Sometimes that works better than calling.

•Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂 But seriously, I'll try anything at this point. Do you have the fax number?

•Lol I know right? But hey, if it works it works! Here's the number: 1-855-027-5337. Good luck!

•I tried faxing and it didn't do jack squat for me. Waste of time imo

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It costs $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I was skeptical too, but I swear it worked for me. Got through in about 2 hours instead of calling for days.

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦♂️

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. I was losing more money each day I couldn't reach them.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Gather all your documents: claim number, paystubs, any correspondence from EDD. 2. Call right when they open (8:00 AM I think?) 3. If you can't get through, keep trying every 15 minutes. 4. When you do get through, be super nice to the rep. They deal with angry people all day. 5. Ask for a supervisor if the first person can't help. 6. Get a direct number or extension if possible. 7. Follow up with an email summarizing your call. It's a pain, but persistence is key. Don't give up!

•Solid advice right here 💯 Especially about being nice to the rep. They're not the ones who make the rules!

I'm in the same boat, been waiting for 6 weeks now. This is ridiculous. We need to organize and demand better service!

•Preach! 🙌 Maybe we should start a petition or something?

•That's not a bad idea actually. Anyone know how to set one up?

Pro tip: if you have a state representative, try contacting their office. They can sometimes expedite claims or at least get you more info.

•Wow, I never thought of that. Do you just call their office?

•Yep! Just google your local rep and give em a call. They usually have staff dedicated to helping with state agency issues.
