PFL payment not received - Need advice on speeding up claim process

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my paid family leave. I filed my claim a while back but still haven't received any payment. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm trying to get through to someone on the phone but no luck so far. Any advice on how to speed up the process or what I should say when I finally get through?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last year. It took FOREVER to get my payments. Have you tried checking your claim status online? Sometimes there's info there that can help.

Yeah, I've been checking online like crazy. It just says 'pending' and hasn't changed in weeks. So frustrating!

Pending for weeks? That's not normal. You might wanna call and ask if there's any missing info they need from you. Sometimes that holds things up.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely ask about that when I finally get through to someone.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I was skeptical too, but I was desperate after trying for weeks. It actually did work for me. Got through in about 2 hours instead of calling all day myself.

Idk man, seems kinda sketchy. How do you know its legit?

I get the concern, but I used it myself. They don't ask for any personal info beyond your phone number to call you back. It's just a tool to get through the phone system faster.

The whole system is a joke tbh. I've been waiting on my claim for 3 months now. Every time I call, they give me a different excuse. It's like they're playing hot potato with our claims 🥔

Here's what worked for me to speed up my PFL claim: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, who you spoke to, and what they said. 2. Contact your local state representative. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. 3. Be persistent but polite when you call. Ask for a supervisor if the first person can't help. 4. Check if there are any forms or documents they might be waiting on. Sometimes they don't notify you if something's missing. 5. If you have a union rep at work, see if they can help escalate your case. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. The system sucks, but you'll get through it eventually.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try contacting my state rep. Didn't even think of that!

This is gold 💯 Wish I had known all this when I was dealing with my claim last year!

have u tried faxing ur docs? sometimes that works better than online submission. old school but effective lol

Faxing? What year is it? 😂 But seriously, I might give that a shot if nothing else works. Thanks!

I'm in the same boat, OP. Filed 6 weeks ago and crickets. This wait is killing me. How are we supposed to take care of our families without income? The system is broken af 😤

Preach! 🙌 It's like they forget we have bills to pay and mouths to feed. The stress is unreal.

For real. I'm about ready to camp outside their office until someone helps me lmao

I'm going through this exact same thing right now! Filed my PFL claim 5 weeks ago and still nothing. The waiting is so stressful when you're already dealing with family stuff. I've been trying to call but can never get through - the line is always busy or I get disconnected after waiting forever. Has anyone had luck calling at specific times of day? Maybe early morning or late afternoon? I'm willing to try anything at this point. The online portal is useless too - just says "processing" with no timeline. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here, at least I know I'm not alone in this mess!
