PFL payment delays from CA EDD - How to speed up claim or get answers?
Has anyone else been dealing with delays in their Paid Family Leave payments? I filed my claim a while back and still haven't seen any money. Its driving me crazy! I've tried calling but can never get through to a real person. Any advice on how to speed things up or at least get some answers?

I found a way to solve Paid Family Leave payment delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43bXNXU5fUg

Pro tip: if you call exactly at 8:01 AM and press 2, then 4, then 1, then do the hokey pokey and turn yourself around, you might just get through to a human. Maybe.

Guys, I think I cracked the code! If you say "EDD" three times in front of a mirror at midnight, a claims specialist appears and processes your claim instantly!

•Instructions unclear, summoned a demon instead. Still faster than EDD tho 👹

I feel ya, buddy. Been there, done that. The whole system is a mess rn. Have you tried faxing them? Sometimes that works better than calling.

•Faxing feels so outdated, but if it works, why not give it a shot? Might be worth a try if nothing else pans out.

Ugh, PFL delays are the worst! 😤 I waited 2 months for my first payment. Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything! Keep a log of when you filed, all attempts to contact them, etc. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 3. Ask for a supervisor if the first person can't help. 4. Check your online account for any pending tasks or missing docs. 5. Reach out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite things. Good luck! The waiting game sucks, but don't give up.

•Thanks for the tips! I'll def try reaching out to my assembly member. Didn't even think of that.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: make sure you have all your ducks in a row before calling. Have your claim number, SSN, and all relevant dates ready. It'll make the convo go smoother if you do get through.

•Calling every day? Ain't nobody got time for that! 😂 But fr, persistence is key with these clowns.

Anyone else notice that the EDD website always seems to be "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄

•It's like they know exactly when I'm about to log in and hit that maintenance button 😤

Has anyone tried contacting their state representative? I've heard some success stories with that route.

•Yes! This worked for me. My rep's office got things moving within a week. Definitely worth a shot.

Anyone else feel like were playing a game of whack-a-mole with these PFL claims? Just when you think youve got it figured out, another problem pops up 🙃

•Tell me about it! It's like they're purposely making it difficult. Gotta love bureaucracy 🙄

I heard about Claimyr and I think it's worth considering if you're feeling really stuck. However, it's important to weigh the cost against the benefit. While $20 might seem steep just to talk to a representative, it could save you hours of frustration and potentially expedite your claim if you're in a bind. Always ensure the service is legitimate by checking reviews and maybe even reaching out to others who've used it before committing.

Unpopular opinion: maybe if we all stopped having families, we wouldn't need PFL 🤔 Problem solved!

Hey guys, former EDD employee here. The system is overwhelmed, but there are a few things you can do: 1. Make sure all your docs are in order and uploaded correctly. 2. Double-check that you've completed all tasks in your online account. 3. If calling, try during off-peak hours (usually right after lunch). 4. Be polite to the reps - they're swamped and doing their best. 5. If all else fails, contact your local rep or senator's office. Hang in there!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Hey OP, how long have you been waiting? I'm on week 6 of my "pending" status and I'm about to lose my mind.

Has anyone else noticed that their claim status changes more often than my relationship status? One day it's "processing," the next it's "pending," then it's "we need more info." Make up your mind, EDD! 🙄

Friendly reminder to take care of yourselves while dealing with this stress, folks. Don't let EDD drama consume your life. Remember to breathe, stay hydrated, and maybe scream into a pillow once in a while. We're all in this together! 💪
