PFL claim filed 6 weeks ago, still no payment. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my paid family leave claim. I filed it a while ago but still haven't gotten paid. Anyone else dealing with this? Any advice on how to speed things up or what I should do next?

Ugh, I feel ya. The PFL system is such a mess rn. When did you file? It took me like 2 months to get my first payment 🙄

I filed about 6 weeks ago. 2 months?! That's crazy long. Did you have to do anything special to finally get paid?

Nah, just waited it out. But I heard some ppl had luck calling and bugging them. Might be worth a shot if you're getting desperate

2 months?! I'm only 3 weeks in and already pulling my hair out. This is ridiculous 😤

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

Yeah, it's totally legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! The system is so broken 😡

I get it, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, not sitting on hold for hours was totally worth it

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes there's info there about why your claim is held up. Could be missing docs or something

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You might have to try a few days in a row, but I finally got through that way

This! Also, Wednesdays seem to be less busy for some reason. Good luck, OP!

Here's what I've learned from my PFL saga: 1. Double-check all your docs. One tiny mistake can hold things up. 2. If you can, get your employer to confirm they received the claim notice. 3. Keep a log of all your calls/attempts to contact them. 4. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important emails end up there. 5. If it's been more than 8 weeks, consider contacting your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things along. Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating, but you'll get through it!

Wow, thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try these. Didn't even think about checking with my employer.

This should be pinned at the top of the sub. So helpful!

lol welcome to the wonderful world of government efficiency 🤡 good luck, you're gonna need it

Have you tried faxing your docs? I know it sounds ancient, but sometimes it gets processed faster that way for some reason

omg what year is it? 1995? 📠😂

IKR? But I swear it worked for me! Sometimes you gotta play by their outdated rules 🤷‍♀️

Just went through this nightmare myself! Here's what finally worked for me: I submitted a "Request for Reconsideration" form through the SDI Online portal after 8 weeks of waiting. Turns out there was some issue with my medical certification that nobody bothered to tell me about. Got my first payment 10 days after submitting that form. Also, try calling the Technical Support line (different from the main number) - they're usually more helpful and the wait times are shorter. Don't give up!
