EDD Family Paid Leave: Stuck waiting for claim status and payments. Any advice?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my family paid leave claim. I submitted it a while ago and I'm still waiting on payments. Has anyone had any luck getting updates on their claim status or finding out when they'll actually get paid? I'm getting pretty frustrated with the whole process and could use some advice.

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been dealing with the same issue for weeks now. Have you tried calling the EDD? It's a total nightmare getting through, but sometimes you can get lucky.

I've tried calling so many times, but I always get stuck on hold forever and then disconnected. It's driving me crazy!

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. I got through after only 30 minutes of waiting last week. Good luck!

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before they actually contact you. It's worth a shot if you haven't already.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

I was skeptical at first too, but I can confirm it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration!

I get it, but honestly, after wasting so much time trying to get through, it was worth every penny to me. Time is money, ya know?

Here's what I've learned from my experience with family paid leave claims: 1. Be persistent: Keep calling and checking your online account regularly. 2. Document everything: Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and any correspondence you receive. 3. Double-check your application: Make sure you didn't miss any required documents or information. 4. Reach out to your local representative: Sometimes they can help expedite the process. 5. Join social media groups: There are Facebook groups where people share tips and updates about EDD issues. 6. Be patient (I know it's hard): The system is overwhelmed, so delays are unfortunately common. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but you'll get through it!

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my local rep. Didn't even think of that.

The whole system is broken. I've been waiting on my claim for 3 months now. It's ridiculous that we have to jump through so many hoops just to get what we're entitled to.

Has anyone had any luck with the online chat feature? I've heard mixed things about it.

I tried it last week. Waited 2 hours to connect, then got disconnected after 5 minutes. Total waste of time.

It worked for me! But you gotta be quick with your responses or they'll end the chat.

Just a heads up, I heard they're implementing a new system next month that's supposed to speed up the process. Might be worth waiting it out if you can.
