No updates on PFL claim after a month - EDD silent. Help?
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my paid family leave claim. I submitted it over a month ago and haven't heard anything back. Has anyone else experienced this? It's getting frustrating not knowing what's going on with my claim. Any advice on how to follow up or what to expect?

Ugh, I feel ya. The waiting game is the worst. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that's the only way to get any real info.

•I've been trying to call but it's impossible to get through. Always busy or they hang up on me. 😤

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can sneak through before the lines get jammed.

•Calling is useless tbh. I spent HOURS on hold and got nowhere. There's gotta be a better way 🤔

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•Idk man, paying to talk to a government agency feels wrong. Shouldn't this be free?

•I get where you're coming from, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, not wasting a whole day on hold was totally worth it.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update stuff there without sending notifications.

I'm in the same boat, submitted my claim 6 weeks ago and radio silence. This system is so broken, it's ridiculous. 🤡

Okay, let me break this down for you based on my experience and what I've learned: 1. First, double-check your online account. Sometimes updates are posted there without any email notification. 2. If nothing's there, try to call. Yes, it's a pain, but it's often necessary. Call right when they open for the best chance. 3. If calling fails, send a message through your online account. Be polite but firm, asking for a status update. 4. Check if there's an option for a callback request on their website. Some agencies offer this now. 5. If all else fails, consider contacting your local state representative. They often have liaisons who can inquire on your behalf. 6. Document everything. Every call, every message, every attempt to contact them. This can be useful if you need to escalate later. 7. Be patient (I know, it sucks) but persistent. Keep following up every week if you don't hear back. Remember, the system is overloaded, but that doesn't mean you should be ignored. Keep at it!

Have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds ancient, but sometimes it works when nothing else does.

Anyone know if there's been any recent changes to the paid family leave process? I heard they were trying to streamline things but clearly that hasn't happened yet.

•I think they're still using systems from the stone age tbh. No real improvements that I've seen.

Pro tip: if you can, go to their office in person. Sometimes face-to-face is the only way to get answers.
