Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I sent in my paperwork for my claim about 3 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything back. I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take for your claim to start after you sent in your documents? Any advice on what I should do next would be really appreciated!
Hey everyone, I'm trying to apply for family leave through EDD and I'm having a hard time getting through to anyone. I've been waiting on hold for hours and still no luck. Has anyone else had this problem? Any tips on how to actually talk to a real person there?
Protip: if you have a complex issue, try to get it resolved BEFORE you actually need to go on leave. I learned this the hard way π€¦ββοΈ
I just had a call with the unemployment office about reestablishing my leave, but now I'm realizing I didn't get paid. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do next? I'm thinking I need to follow up with them again, but I'm not sure what to say or how to approach it. Any advice would be appreciated!
Quick question - did you make sure to certify for benefits after reestablishing your claim? Sometimes people forget that step and it delays payment.
Hey everyone, I filed for unemployment benefits a couple weeks ago and I'm still waiting on my EDD debit card. I can't find any info on the website about whether I need to apply for one separately or if it's supposed to come automatically. Has anyone else dealt with this? How long did it take for your card to arrive?
Anyone else notice that the EDD website is always "down for maintenance" when you actually need to use it? π
Has anyone else been waiting forever for their claim payment? It's been over 3 weeks and nothing is showing up on the website. This delay is really causing me financial stress. I'm not sure what to do next. Any advice on how to handle this or get some answers?
Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds ancient, but sometimes that gets faster results than online submissions.
guys i think i figured it out. if u sacrifice a goat under a full moon while chanting the state anthem backwards, ur claim gets processed instantly

Guys, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. How long did you have to wait after using the service?

Only about 30 mins! Way better than the 3+ hours I spent trying to get through on my own
