PFL application pending for over a month - no updates. How to get status?
Hey everyone, I'm getting really frustrated with my paid family leave application. It's been over a month since I submitted it and I haven't heard anything back. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm trying to get a status update or find out if there's anything else I need to do to finalize my application. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through the same thing last year. It took them almost 2 months to process my application. Have you tried calling their customer service line? Sometimes that's the only way to get any real information.

•I've been trying to call but I can never get through. It's so frustrating! How long did you have to wait on hold?

•Honestly, it was a nightmare. I think I spent like 3 hours on hold one day before I finally got through to someone. But it was worth it to finally get some answers.

•3 hours?! That's insane. There's gotta be a better way 🤦♂️

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting for hours. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

•I was skeptical at first too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

•I get the concern, but I've used it twice now. They're BBB accredited if that helps. Plus, the time I saved was worth way more than $20 to me.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there without sending a notification. It's worth a shot!

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they're purposely making it difficult for us.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with paid family leave applications: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and online account checks. 2. Be persistent. Unfortunately, squeaky wheels often get the grease in these situations. 3. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important updates end up there. 4. If possible, submit any additional documentation they might need, even if they haven't asked for it yet. This can sometimes speed up the process. 5. Reach out to your local representative's office. They often have contacts within these departments and can help push things along. 6. Join Facebook groups or other online communities specific to your state's paid family leave program. Sometimes you can get insider tips or at least commiserate with others in the same boat. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but you'll get through it!

Just a heads up, there was a system upgrade last week that's been causing delays. Might be why you haven't heard back yet. They said it should be resolved by next week, so hang tight!
