PFL application submitted - no confirmation or payment info. What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm getting really frustrated with the paid family leave process. I submitted my application a while ago, but I haven't heard anything back. No confirmation, no update on when I might get paid, nothing. I'm starting to worry that I might be missing some information or that they didn't even receive my application. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat a few months ago. It's like they throw your application into a black hole or something. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

•I've tried calling but I can never get through. It's so frustrating! How long did it take for you to hear back?

•It took me about 3 weeks to finally get through on the phone. Keep trying, eventualy you'll get lucky!

•3 weeks?! That's insane. The system is so broken 🤦♂️

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The government should do better.

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta pay to play 🤷♂️

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your online account if you have one. Sometimes they update info there without sending notifications. 2. Send a follow-up email with your application number (if you have one) asking for a status update. 3. Keep calling. I know it sucks, but persistence pays off. 4. If you have a local office, try going in person. Sometimes face-to-face works better. 5. Check your spam folder! I've heard of people missing important emails because they went to spam. Hang in there! The system is slow, but it does work... eventually.

lol welcome to the wonderful world of government bureaucracy 🤡 where everything's made up and the timelines don't matter

Have you checked your mail carefully? Sometimes they send physical letters that look like junk mail. I almost threw mine away by accident!

This happened to me too. Turns out there was a glitch in their system and my application got stuck. Keep calling and ask them to check if there are any technical issues with your application. Don't give up!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! It's been 6 weeks since I submitted my application and radio silence. I've been checking my online account daily and there's literally nothing - no status updates, no estimated timeline, nothing. It's so stressful especially when you're counting on that money. I tried the phone number but gave up after being on hold for 2 hours. Maybe we should all flood their social media pages until they respond? This is unacceptable for such an important program.

•@Emma Davis I m'so sorry you re'dealing with this too! 6 weeks is absolutely ridiculous. I love the social media idea - maybe if enough of us start posting about these delays on their Twitter/Facebook pages, they ll'actually pay attention. Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member s'office? I heard they sometimes help with state agency issues when people get stuck in the system. We shouldn t'have to jump through hoops like this just to get basic information about our own applications!
