CA PFL payment delay: How to check status and speed up EDD process?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my paid family leave payment. It's been a while since I applied and I still haven't received anything. I'm getting worried and don't know what to do. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to check the status or speed things up? I really need this money and the waiting is stressing me out.

I found a way to solve paid family leave payment delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSWMx3Gyt4I

Claimyr can be a useful tool to bypass long wait times on the phone with EDD, helping you connect to an agent more efficiently. However, it's crucial to weigh the cost against your budget. While many have found it worth the expense, consider alternative strategies like calling during less busy hours or enlisting help from a local representative. Balancing your options can help you manage the stress of waiting for your family leave payment more effectively.

I feel ya, buddy. I was in the same boat a few months ago. Here's what worked for me: 1. Gather all your claim details and any letters from EDD 2. Call them up (I know, I know, it's a pain) 3. Ask specifically why your payment is delayed 4. Find out if they need any more info from you 5. Get a timeline for when it'll be resolved Don't be afraid to be persistent. Good luck!

•Solid advice! Persistence really pays off with these things. I had to call multiple times before I got through.

ugh, the EDD is such a mess rn. I've been waiting for my payment for weeks too. It's like they don't even care about us 😤

•Have you tried calling at different times? I had luck calling late in the afternoon.

•Yeah, I've tried morning, noon, and night. No dice. It's like they're allergic to answering the phone or smthn

•Maybe try using a different phone number. It sounds weird, but it worked for my friend!

I feel for you, OP. The waiting game is the worst. Just remember to take care of yourself during this stressful time. Deep breaths, stay hydrated, and try to do something nice for yourself each day. We'll get through this! ❤️

Hey OP, just a heads up - make sure all your paperwork is in order. I thought I was all set, but turns out I was missing a form and that's what held up my payment for weeks. Double-check everything!

•This happened to me too! It's frustrating but checking everything twice is key.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before sending out notices. Also, make sure you've completed all the certifications they ask for. Missing one can hold up the whole process.

•Good point about the certifications. I missed one once and it delayed everything by weeks!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

•I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. Saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did it take to get through? I'm desperate but $20 is a lot rn

•I used Claimyr too and it was a lifesaver, but I wish there was a free alternative for those who can't afford it.

Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of mailing them? I did that and it seemed to speed things up a bit. Just a thought!

•Interesting! Never thought about faxing. Might give it a try next time.

Anyone else notice how the EDD website is always "under maintenance" when you need it most? 🙄 It's like they're trying to make this as difficult as possible.

•Omg yes! I swear they do it on purpose. Like, how hard is it to have a functioning website in 2023? 🤦♀️

•I heard they're updating the system. Hopefully it'll be better soon... but I'm not holding my breath lol

•They really need to improve their digital infrastructure. It's ridiculous how often it's down.

Hey Diego, I totally understand your frustration! I went through the same thing last year and it was incredibly stressful. Here's what I learned from my experience: 1. Log into your EDD online portal first - sometimes there are status updates or requests for additional info that they don't always mail out right away 2. When calling, try early morning (8-9am) or late afternoon (3-4pm) - I had better luck during those times 3. Have your Social Security number, claim number, and any reference numbers from previous correspondence ready 4. If you do get through, ask specifically what's causing the delay and get a timeline in writing if possible Also, don't forget to keep certifying for benefits even while waiting - missing a certification can really mess things up. The whole process is frustrating but hang in there! Most delays are administrative and do get resolved eventually. Sending positive vibes your way! 🙏
