PFL Payment Delay: How to Check Status and Speed Up California Paid Family Leave Payout?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my California Paid Family Leave payment. I submitted my claim a while ago and I'm still waiting for the money to come through. Has anyone else experienced delays? I'm getting worried because I really need this payment soon. Any advice on how to check the status or speed things up would be really appreciated!

Ugh, I feel you. The waiting game is the worst 😫 Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

•Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but I got through in about an hour. Saved me a ton of time and frustration.

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😡

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. I was losing more money taking days off work to call them.

Here's what I know about PFL payments: • Processing time is usually 2-3 weeks after you file • First payment often takes longer • You can check status online or through their automated phone system • If it's been more than 3 weeks, definitely try to contact them • Make sure all your docs were submitted correctly Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more info.

•Thank you so much! This is really helpful. I'll double-check all my docs and try the online status check.

The whole system is a joke. I've been waiting 6 weeks for my payment. Good luck, OP. You're gonna need it 🙃

•6 weeks?! That's insane. How are people supposed to survive?

•ikr? It's like they want us to suffer. The govt doesn't care about regular ppl anymore 😤

Quick question - did you receive any kind of confirmation after submitting your claim? Sometimes they need additional info and don't always communicate that clearly.

•Yeah, I got an email confirmation. But maybe I should double-check if they need anything else. Thanks for the suggestion!

Protip: If u cant get thru on the phone, try reaching out on social media. Sometimes they respond faster there. Worth a shot! 🤷♂️

I went through this exact same situation last month! Here's what worked for me: First, log into your EDD account online and check if there are any pending issues or requests for additional documentation. Sometimes they flag claims for review and you won't know unless you check. Second, if everything looks good on your end, try calling first thing in the morning (8am sharp) - I actually got through after about 45 minutes. The rep was able to tell me my payment was just stuck in processing and she expedited it. Got my money 3 days later! Don't give up - you'll get through this! 💪
