CA PFL payment not received, no emails from EDD. What to do?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my California Paid Family Leave. I applied for it but haven't received any payment yet. What's even more frustrating is that I haven't gotten any emails or updates about my claim. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I feel your pain! The EDD system is such a mess rn. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare to get through, but sometimes it's the only way to get answers.

I've been trying to call but no luck so far. It's so frustrating! 😤

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way.

Good idea! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. Got through in about 2 hours.

$20 tho? That's kinda steep just to talk to someone...

I get it, but for me it was worth it. Beats wasting days trying to get through on my own.

Make sure you double-check all your paperwork. Sometimes they don't process claims if there's any missing info. It's annoying AF but it happens.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes EDD emails end up there. Also, log into your EDD account online if you haven't already - sometimes there are messages there that don't get emailed.

Good idea, I'll check my spam folder. I've been logging in but haven't seen any updates there either. 😕

I had a similar issue last year. Turns out there was a glitch in their system and my claim got stuck. Took forever to sort out. Here's what I did: 1. Kept calling every day (I know, it sucks) 2. Sent a message through the EDD website 3. Reached out to my local assembly member's office 4. Documented EVERYTHING Eventually, the assembly member's office was able to push it through. Don't give up!

Wow, thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my assembly member if I can't get through soon.

Fr fr 💯 EDD needs to get their act together

Hey OP, how long has it been since you applied? Sometimes it can take a few weeks to process, especially if there's a backlog.

It's been about 3 weeks now. I know they say it can take time, but the lack of communication is what's really getting to me.

Ah gotcha. Yeah, 3 weeks with no word is frustrating. Def try calling if you can.

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Applied 2 weeks ago for PFL and radio silence from EDD. No emails, no updates in my online account - nothing. It's so stressful when you're depending on that money. I've been reading through all these comments and it sounds like calling early in the morning might be the way to go. Also thinking about reaching out to my assembly member's office like @Mateo Gonzalez suggested. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - at least I know I'm not alone in this mess! 😤
