EDD Paid Family Leave claim stuck in limbo - no response, can't reach anyone. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with my Paid Family Leave claim. I filed it a while ago but haven't heard anything back. I've tried contacting EDD through other means, but I'm not getting anywhere. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to actually get in touch with someone who can help?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been dealing with EDD for months now and it's like talking to a brick wall. Have you tried calling their main line? It's a nightmare, but sometimes you can get through if you keep trying.

•Calling is useless. I spent 3 hours on hold last week only to get disconnected. 🤬

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins of hold time that way.

•Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried calling a few times but no luck so far. Guess I'll keep at it 😓

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? Thats kinda steep for something that should be free...

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

•Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

•They don't guarantee it, but they keep trying until they get through. You just put in your number and they call you when they have an agent on the line. Took about 2 hours for me.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help push things along with EDD. It's worth a shot!

Okay, so here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact EDD, including dates and times. 2. Send a written request for information about your claim via certified mail. This creates a paper trail. 3. File a complaint with the EDD's Internal Affairs Department if you don't get a response within 30 days. 4. Contact your state representative or senator. They have liaisons who can intervene on your behalf. 5. If all else fails, consider reaching out to local media. Sometimes public pressure can get results. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is frustrating, but you have rights and there are people who can help.

•This is solid advice. I wish I'd known all this when I was dealing with my claim last year.

lol good luck. EDD is a joke. I've been waiting 6 months for my claim to be processed. Might as well start a GoFundMe at this point 🤡

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update info there without sending a notification.

I heard they're super backlogged rn because of all the wildfires. Might be why its taking so long.

This might sound weird, but try faxing them. I know its like 1995 all over again, but I actually got a response that way when nothing else worked.
