Trouble reaching PFL department for benefits claim - any tips?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to get in touch with the Paid Family Leave department but I'm having trouble. I need to talk to someone about my benefits. Has anyone had any luck getting through to them recently? I filed a claim but haven't heard anything back yet. Any advice on how to reach them or what I should do next?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to reach them for weeks! It's like they don't want us to get our benefits or something. Have you tried calling early in the morning? I heard that's the best time to get through.

ā¢Early morning didn't work for me. I tried at 8 AM sharp and still got the busy signal. š¤¦āāļø

ā¢Same here. I even tried calling at 7:59 AM thinking I'd be first in line. No luck. This system is so broken!

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

ā¢$20? That's ridiculous. We shouldn't have to pay to access our benefits!

ā¢I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate. The $20 was worth it to finally get my issues resolved.

ā¢Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

ā¢Sure! You just go to their website, choose the department you need to reach, pay the fee, and they start calling. When they get a real person, your phone rings and you're connected. Saved me hours of frustration.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update info there without sending a notice. It's worth a look if you haven't already.

I'm in the same boat. Filed my claim 3 weeks ago and radio silence since then. This whole process is so frustrating! š¤

ā¢3 weeks? You're still new to this game. I've been waiting for 2 months now. Welcome to EDD hell. š„

ā¢Oh man, 2 months? That's insane! How are you surviving?

ā¢Barely. Had to borrow money from family. This system is a joke.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with PFL for the past few months: ⢠Be persistent. Keep calling, even if it seems hopeless. ⢠Document everything. Write down who you talk to, when, and what they say. ⢠Check your online account daily for updates. ⢠If you can, visit an office in person. Sometimes face-to-face works better. ⢠Consider contacting your local representative. They can sometimes help push things along. ⢠Make sure all your paperwork is in order and submitted correctly. ⢠Join Facebook groups or forums for more support and tips. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but don't give up!

ā¢Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start keeping better records. Have you had any luck with contacting a local rep?

ā¢Yes, actually! My state assembly member's office was surprisingly helpful. They have liaisons who can sometimes cut through the red tape. Worth a shot!

Has anyone tried faxing their documents? I heard from a friend that sometimes that gets faster results than mailing or uploading online.

ā¢Faxing? What year is it, 1995? š

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling one of the other departments and ask to be transferred. Sometimes works!

I'm convinced they're purposely making it difficult to discourage people from claiming benefits. It's all a conspiracy, man! šµļøāāļø

ā¢Take off the tinfoil hat, bro. It's just good old-fashioned government inefficiency. š
