EDD Paid Family Leave claim issues - Can't get through on phone, need advice
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my Paid Family Leave claim. I filed it recently but haven't heard anything back. I tried calling EDD multiple times but kept getting disconnected. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to actually get through to a live person? I'm starting to get really frustrated with the whole process.

Ugh, welcome to the club. 🙄 EDD's phone system is a total nightmare. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually talk to anyone.

•For real tho. Its like they purposely make it impossible to reach them. I swear they just sit there laughing at us poor souls trying to get help 😭

•Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard thats the best time to get through

•Yep, tried that. No luck. It's always either busy or I get disconnected after waiting for an hour. 🤬

I feel your pain, OP. I was in the same boat a few months ago. Here's what worked for me: 1. Call early in the morning, like right when they open. 2. If you get a busy signal, hang up and immediately redial. 3. Keep doing this until you get into the queue. 4. Once you're in, DO NOT hang up no matter how long it takes. 5. Have all your info ready when you finally get through. It's a pain, but persistence is key. Good luck!

•This is solid advice. I'd also add: try calling on Tuesday or Wednesday. Mondays are usually crazy busy.

Hey guys, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•How long did it take for them to actually connect you?

•It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help push things through with EDD. Worth a shot if you're really stuck.

lmao good luck. EDD is a joke. I've been waiting 3 months for my claim to be processed. Might as well start learning to photosynthesize at this point 🌱🤡

•Right? Just water and sunlight, and we're good to go. EDD can't ghost plants 🌻

Pro tip: use the online portal to submit questions. Sometimes they respond faster that way than over the phone. Also, make sure you've uploaded all necessary documents. That can speed things up.

•Thanks for the tip! I'll double-check my uploads. Didn't even think about using the portal for questions.

Anyone else notice how the EDD system always seems to crash right when you need it most? It's like they're running it on a potato or something 🥔💻

•Potato? You're giving them too much credit. Pretty sure it's just a hamster on a wheel at this point 🐹

•LOL true. Poor hamster probably needs a vacation. No wonder our claims are taking forever to process 😂
