EDD Paid Family Leave: Can't get through on phone after 100+ tries. Help!

I've been trying to get through to EDD for my paid family leave claim for weeks now. It's driving me crazy! I've called over 100 times, even right when they open at 8:00 AM, but I still can't get through. Has anyone else had this problem? Any tips on how to actually reach a human being there?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I was in the same boat last month. It's like trying to win the lottery or something. 🎰

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but I can confirm it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

How long did it take for them to actually get through?

It took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music the whole time. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call right at 8:01 AM (not 8:00, they're not ready yet) 2. If you hear 'thank you for calling' hang up and redial 3. Keep doing this until you hear the hold music 4. Once you're on hold, DO NOT HANG UP 5. Average wait time for me was about 2-3 hours It's a pain, but it eventually worked. Good luck!

Have you tried contacting your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help expedite EDD issues.

Pro tip: if you have a complex issue, try to get transferred to Tier 2 support. They're usually more helpful and can actually make changes to your claim.

How do you get transferred to Tier 2? Just ask?

Dylan Cooper

Yeah, just explain that your issue is complex and ask if they can transfer you to a Tier 2 specialist. Sometimes they'll do it, sometimes not, but worth a shot!
